veiwing eps files in word

I have a word document that has lots of graphics with embedded eps files. Unfortunately the files all say " Preview: this EPS picture was not saved with a preview included in it. Comment. This EPS picture will print to a postscript printer, but not to other kinds of printers." I dont have a postscript printer, but would also like to copy some of the pictures into a power point presentation

I have tried copying the file and pasting into programmes such as irfanview, but either nothing gets pasted, or just the above message.

any ideas? I cant seem to unembed each picture and save it as an eps file as there is no right click option for it. Fustrating

sort of sorted it out. In the end I exported teh word document as an PDF and then could cut the pictures from acrobat. It is not ideal as I suspect that I lose a lot of the resolution, but will do unless someone can come up with a lossless way

Try c&p’ing into powerpoint, it can handle eps files. Or, failing that, download ghostview (and ghostscript) from here, and use that. Its a postscript interpreter for Windows, and will allow you to print both eps and ps files to normal windows printers.

thanks angua. Pasteing into PP doesn’t work but ghostview looks more promising
