I loved seeing how many blonde boys inhabit the greek islands. They even have mullets.
I don’t watch the series often, but I noticed that one of the female villans has a man’s voice. Is there a story behind that?
That would be Mrs. Monarch (formerly Dr. Girlfriend) and there’s no real explanation for her Harvey Fierstein-voice aside from the fact that she’s been smoking five packs of cigarettes a day since she was 18 and that it’s funny.
“I’m still looking for the scars!” - Brock Sampson
Uh… Dr. Mrs. The Monarch, if you please.
Otherwise you’ll get an unwelcome visit from Tim-Tom and Kevin, the Pupae Twins.
My mistake. I apologize.

So last night was interesting. Doc finally confesses about Dermott. And why was Orpheus so mystified by Dermott summoning him? He already knows that Dermott is a half Venture since he and the Alchemist were the ones who discovered the secret with the key chain. Unless he was just BSing Dermott to allay suspicion.
That was my guess. He didn’t want to come right out and say,
“Oh, BTW, I know you’re really Doc’s son, and your sister is your mom…uhh…sorry for never telling you.”
Which leads to an interesting question. Dermott found out that Doc is really his dad, but did he find out his sister is really his mom, or does he think Doc had sex with his gross grandmother who he might still think is is mom?
It really does seem like Jackson and Hammer love trolling the audience.
“Oh, you thought we gave you the answer to one of the “big” mysteries of the VB Universe a few years ago? NOPE! Back to where you started, suckers!”
At this rate, we’ll never find out who the mother is/was, why The Monarch hates Rusty and why he was seemingly friends with him as a kid and doesn’t remember, what killed Jonas Sr., etc…
Sometimes I feel that way as well…but other times I think it’s either Publick and Doc not being on the same page on something or them deciding later on that they didn’t like how something played out and want to retcon it.
That’s sort of a blessing and a curse of it being a two-man operation.
I finally caught up last night in a six-episode blowout marathon. And now I understand why one of my friends kept yelling “Spanakopita!” the other night.
Did anybody else catch Vendata’s mumbling after Brock took his suit in the nightclub about his plane going down and “where’s my wife?” Is Vendata going to turn out to be Monarch’s father?
Ooooh! Interesting theory! I heard him saying it but just thought he was remembering his last moments with Jonas (Sr.).
Huh. I may be totally off the mark, then, because I’m not remembering any history with Jonas Sr. TO THE WIKI!!!
Okay, looking at that, all it says is that Jonas turned him into a cyborg, but it does include the Monarch’s Father theory, so I feel better.
Combined with that snapshot we saw earlier int he season, with young Monarch and young Rusty playing together, in front of their parents - it offers some other interesting theories, too. Is Vendata the Monarch’s dad, or is Jonas Venture?
Hmm … I’d be more inclined to go with that idea if Monarch’s dad wasn’t visible in that picure. Sure, Jonas is clearly trying to get all up in Mrs.-Mother-the-Monarch’s business, but I stand by my original theory.
And you know I really just replied so I could say “Mrs.-Mother-the-Monarch”.
Don’t be so quick to discount the idea - after all, Jonas and many of his friends were swingers.
Ooo, hadn’t considered that! Good theory. Makes a lot of sense. The Monarch’s parents did “die in a plane crash”.
Anyone else order any of the shirts? I ordered the OSI shirt a couple of weeks back and still have not received it. Kinda bugging me.
I’ve been enjoying this season, but the OSI vs GCI plot has me curious. In the past, the Guild was portrayed as a necessary evil- see Brock’s speech from “The Lepidopterists” (These guys like their system, it’s what they do." Without it we get “a bunch of pissed off nut bags with ray guns, and giant, I don’t know, a giant octopus slash tank with laser eyes.”)
This season, however, Hunter seems intent on destroying the Guild- that seems odd to me. Destroying the status quo is not going to have good effects.
I suspect that ultimately the Guild and OSI will turn out to be either two parts of the same organization or working for a common leader.
Yeah, starting to think Hunter is the real traitor.
The deliveries lag behind the shows a bit more than that. I just received ‘Destiny’ yesterday, for a point of reference. I’m a full-season subscriber.
They don’t seem to be quite a week apart, so I’d say you’ll have OSI in under two weeks.
