Venture Bros Season 5 Thread (open spoilers)

Ok, I practically wet myself when I saw that box and had to order it immediately, price be damned.

Something I didn’t get was whether the Bot Seeking Bot ad placed by Vendata and the “date” were intended to be romantic? The start of the episode was set up like he just had no friends, but then his anger at whatever he thought the fake Galacticon was doing in the toilet seems to support the romantic date angle?

EDIT: BTW I’ve been thinking Rusty is the Monarch’s half brother for a long while now, it would give the shows title extra meaning!

Spanakopita shirt arrived today.

I think the ambiguity was part of the joke. I think the implication was that it was “romantic,” but what that means for a robot is hard to parse.

Some freeze frame fun from Bot seeks Bot-
Shore Leave is listed as 6’ 4 220 pounds, and Brock as 7’ and 390 pounds on their fake guild IDs.

Sounds about right, although I’m having a hard time picturing how big Brock would be in real life. Does any actual person even approach those stats?

This should be close enough. (Terrell Brown, 6’10" and around 400 pounds.)

ETA: Couple more pix of him.

Just got my shipping notice for the OSI shirt.

Paul Wight (Big Show in WWE)

Billed at 7’, 440 pounds. At some points in the past he was closing in on 500 pounds.

Shown here with some soldiers. Here with Shaq. And I’m pretty sure she’s fairly normal sized.

Haven’t received mine yet.

Interesting that Gary ended back with The Monarch, although I think it’s funny as hell that one shot from the Hovertank completely destroyed the Cocoon.

Figured that while Dean spent the entire season being freaked out by finding out that he’s a clone, Hank thought it was freaking awesome.

Good god they’re making them big nowadays! Don’t they know there’s a gas crunch on? Look at the size of you!

Am I the only one thinking Molotov has a size fixation?

Damn cool season, I’ll be watching the re-runs. I for one, never saw Rusty and the Monarch being half brothers (or childhood friends, or whatever) coming. Hank realizing that being a clone was the ultimate in cool was great. Plus, he got a super sweet sunburst MM StingRay for playing matchmaker. I now think he’s the smarter of the younger Venture Brothers. What did Dean get? Dumped and depressed! That StingRay sounds sweeter every second.

My favorite throw away line, from the Monarch:

“Who the Hell’s Gary?”

Good question. I always thought it looked like The Monarch could be Rusty’s big brother. They both have red hair, similar nose, and whiny voice.

Yep, I’m feeling more clueless by the second. They even have the same beard type.

So it looks like they’ve reached another period of “stability.” A bit of a return to old ways what with friction between Team Venture and the forces of The Monarch.

I thought they were the same year in college. Of course, The Monarch spent a couple of months being raised by butterflies, so that may have put him a little behind in school.

The worst thing about Sunday’s episode:

Now I have to wait another two years for six more episodes.

I was expecting some big reveal or twist, but there was none to be had. And I think the gap between seasons could be smaller this time - didn’t Cartoon Network approve a two-season order last time?

Yes-season 6 has already been approved.

BUT, they’ve already said it will be sometime in 2015 before we get new episodes.

If they’re half brothers (most likely scenario) and Jonas had two women pregnant at about the same time they could be the same age.
