Verizon Wireless can suck my cellphone

I had an experience yesterday with my verizon phone that pissed me off so much that I just want to share with you what the fuckwads did. I’m going to write verizion wireless a more clean version of this.

First let me say I’ve gotten into financial problems so while I have enough money for day to day normal expenses I do not have an accessible slush fund (I do have a fund but it’s not easily accessible)

Last week I ordered through Verizon’s B2B website an EnV at a discount to replace the Razr that I’ve been using. Naturally the LG phone uses a different charger than the Motorola phone. I did not purchase a car charger for the new phone because I was saving up for the kit containing music essentials cable, usb cable and a case because if I order accessories through the B2B site I save 25%.

Well Friday night I never made it home so I couldn’t change my phone. Saturday morning I see my phone is dead and I needed the GPS feature to direct us to Six Flags MD to activate our Season Passes [sup] 1 [/sup]

I log into my bank’s online site to check my checking accoubt balance and I see it has gone negative and I was charged an overdraft fee. I call customer service to ask if the fee would be waived because I was relying on information from them. The agent said they could not do it but if I called my local branch they might be able to. So I call and explain what happened [sup] 2 [/sup] and I’m told the charge should be removed by the afternoon and my balance will be positive.

So we head out to a Verizon store in NJ to buy a charger or should I say my friend buy the charger because I could not get to the bank I have a savings account at I have just eight dollars on me.

So at Verizon I spend about thrity dollars on the charger and I don’t get to use my discount because it was not through the website. I accept this. We go out to the car and I plug in my charger.

Three hours later I unplug the charger from the phone and the fucking this separates. I’m stuck holding a cable with some file gold wires coming out one end and there is a metal tab sticking out the bottom of my phone. I think my day can’t get any worse and resign myself to having to spend a few hours without a phone while Verizon replaces it because their charger not some third party foreign one made by a child in a sweat shop who will never own a phone let alone any thing we consider a necessity but is really a luxury didn’t properly crimp the connector on has broken my new phone.

So I’m at Verizon and I didn’t realize I had to sign in. I just walked to the back and got on the Technical Support line. After a few minutes someone came up to me and told be I had to sign in. So I go back and enter my information then get back on line.

A few minutes later I’m called and explained in a nice pleasant tone what happened. I say I purchased this charger a few hours earlier in your Howell NJ store and present the receipt. I then go on to explain that I plugged in the charger and when I went to unplug the charger, it broke.

The agent took one look at it said I abused it and would have to purchase a new phone. I was taken back in shock. I did not abuse the phone. I did not touch the phone improperly. I did not think impure thoughts about the phone. I just plugged in the charge port and held it on my lap running the GPS. At no point was the cable even fully extended.

I told the agent I wanted to speak to her supervisor because I did not abuse the phone. The manager came out and told me after looking at the phone briefly that they would give me a refurbished phone for $50.00 I would have accepted that because it would get me on my way but I left my credit cards at home and my debit card was not in a usable state. I asked the manager if I could have the $50.00 added to my bill and I was told no. I then asked can they try to remove the charger piece that is in the phone and I was told they don’t do any repairs in the stores and that the port is damaged beyond repair. I then asked if they would note my file that I can have a FRU and I will go in to my local store when I am back in NJ because I did not have $50.00 I learned about having the account noted because of a prior incident [sup] 3 [/sup] .

The manager tells the agent to give me a slip. I don’t know if this means they are waiving the $50.00 fee or it will appear on my next bill but they told me I would have a replacement phone in an hour. Then I broached the subject of their charger that failed from workmanship which is listed as a covered reason for replacement. She initially said no because it was abuse. She said the prongs would not detach if it was not abused. I told her I believe the item was defective and need to know how to file a complaint. She then agreed to make an exception to replace the charger as well

So to the Verizon store in Bowie MD thank you for eventually doing the right thing but may you have hot pokers shoved through whatever orifice you least want them shoved through for making someone almost beg for you to do the right thing. I could understand abuse if I spun the phone around by the cord until it snapped like the hammer throw in the Olympics. However when you are presented with a phone that has no marks, dings, or scratches and a cable with no stretch marks and looks brand new. How can you fucking look me in the eyes and say I caused the damage by abuse.

[sup] 1 [/sup] I know you may be thinking he has financial problems why the holy fuck is he buying a season pass to an amusement park. To that I have to say one day pass to Six Flags in Jackson purchased online is $45.99. If I purchased it at the park it would be $59.99 A season pass there is $89.99 but a pass to MD which can be used in Jackson after activation is $49.99 just $4.00 more than a one day pass bought online

[sup] 2 [/sup] Note checking account mixup was not entirely my fault. I relied on what the automated system said I had and all payments out were via ATM and Visa Debit Card no actual checks were used. Account is being credited the overdraft fee which will make me positive again

[sup] 3 [/sup] I had a phone with a screen that broke due to a temperature change one tech agreed to replace it for $50.00 and when I came back the next day after backing up my contacts I was told no such offer was made and I had to make an insurance claim.
