Vermont

And pirates on small ponds and streams! Very junior in the pirate hierarchy, but no less loot- and booty-seeking for all that.

Don’t tell me you’ve never seen the high prow and black sails of the Scourge of the Winooski! Or Cap’n andygirl and I will make you walk the plank.

Aaargh! Shiver me timbers and flotsam me jetsam! Curse me for a flowery shirt wearing parrot head if’n I don’t haul anchor and scupper the lanyards! It’s across Lake Champlain and hard aport for Burlington I’m bound! Belike!

or

I’ll be there.

If I can get a ride up, I’m there.

(if anyone will be traveling past/near the Albanyt area, let me know!)

According to 99.9 The Buzz, Tenacious D is playing at Higher Ground in Winooski on Friday the 28th!

Think Jack Black would read my treatment for “A Confederacy of Dunces: The Movie”?

Maybe I’ll come down to Vermont after all.

I can’t commit myself at this point, but I figured I’d give my two cents. [ul] [li] I am also anti-hiking, FWIW. [] I love Muddies, however, getting a table for four is tricky, much less ten. I saw it happen once, and I was pissed, as I was not one of the ten and I wanted a table. [] Because I am such a Muddies fan, I haven’t ever been in Radio Bean. That, and I’m a South End snob. Live in the North End, dream of the South End. [] Dare we consider a meal? Halvorsons seems like a dope-able place. [] Can I get a shout out from the cigarette smoking-hard drinkers out there? Hedonism shouldn’t be lonely. Thanks for the heads up on Tenacious D. Of course, it’s probably a million bucks if it’s at Higher Ground, but I’ll check it out. (ten points for the next Vermont Doper who can tell me what used to be in the space that Higher Ground now lives in…)[/ul][/li]
A-yup. That’s about it, boss.

Whoooooo!!!

I hear that, Swiddles!

Sorry I’ve been out of my own thread for so long, but I’ve been away.

Oh, and Swimming Riddles, the TRUE spelling of Alburgh is with the “H” Recently it has been dropped from the name, but the charter and all the old time stuff still says “Alburgh” I remember a few years ago, the state put up some new signs that said “Alberg” Boy, were some people pissed. Also, I would be up to seeing Tenacious D, but I have to work and I have already used up all my vacation. Sorry.

peace,
JB

I’m up for D, if Wonko wants to spend the time.

[self-righteous Islander] Wanna tell me about MY county? Well, Jeesum crow, if we was goin’ by what the friggen charter said, I’d be crappin’ in “ye olde toilet.” Manhattan used to be called New Amsterdam, that doesn’t make leaf peepers Dutch, now do it? And if ya want to go by what the charter said, let’s refer to Grand Isle as “Middle Hero.” That’s what Ethan Allen named it. Didn’t know we was goin’ by the Revolutionary War spelling. ::mutterfriggenmainlanderknowitallsmutter::[/self-righteous Islander]

And let me tell you something else: those Alburg girls are a bitch to play soccer against. I thought it was a combination of failing in school repeatedly and inbreeding that made them a good three inches taller than us North Heroers. I’d have to clock them with my cleats behind their shin guards to even the playing field.

Well I’m currently stuck at school in Delaware, so unfortunatly I won’t be able to make it.

Hi, honey.

I’m getting a ride from people who are going to see the Tenacous D show. If anybody wants to watch the show with me, it’s 20 dollars. I don’t know if I want to go to it or not… thoughts?

[insert sad smiley here]

Where are you studying down in the home of tax-free shopping? Perhaps we need to have a dopefest down there sometime!

I am spending my days at the University of Delaware.
I’m not real sure about a Delaware dope fest. Location would be an issue as well as time. Maybe one day.

Well anyway, have fun… and make sure andygirl behaves.

Dude, this sucks, dopefest in my home state and I can’t go. Life’s a pisser.
(goes off and prays for an Albany area dopefest.)

I don’t live in VT, I live right across the lake in Plattsburgh. I go over to Burlington every couple weeks or so. Wanna have a VT/NY dopefest?

Sorry, stupid me, I only looked @ page 1. Everyone’s setting the final date and I ask if anyone want’s to have a dopefest. Stupid me. Well anyway, I’m right across the lake, so if anyone want’s to meet in a coffe shop in Burlington, I’m up for it. I kinda know my way around town, just e-mail me when and where.

Radio Bean is less than a block into the North End! But I think it’s a cool place; you should check it out. It’s probably not very good if ~10 dopers show up though, as they’ve got small tables and booths.

A meal at Halvorson’s also sounds like a good option.

All right, let’s put together an e-mail list and get this organized. To save you a few clicks I’m cs302b@yahoo.com
