Veronica Mars 11/21 - "Lord of the Pi's" (spoilers)

Nice stunt casting.

LoVe / Piz, eh?
sigh
I just can’t see V and Piz, but whatever.
So does the preview mean that some rapes were real?
I rather liked this week’s MOTW.

Greatest line from Dick Casablancas ever: “Keister egg.”

Patty Hearst card read good.

Hey, let’s lock you in a closet for 56 days and see how well you act.

I’m going to Hell for laughing at “keister egg.” That plus “Peter Cottontail” was brilliant. Absolutely genius way of pointing out the double standard. Women getting raped is horrific. Men getting raped is the stuff of comedy.

I’m confused. Patty Hearst and her husband were both having affairs? Hubby with Hallie and Patty with – who? Who called her on the phone? Why did she disappear at a conspicuous time, if she needed to stay hidden away for just a few days? Did her husband know she was in the guest house?

Hubby had Hallie seduce Patty to get blackmail material. Patty had been a national joke after [del]robbing the Hibernia Bank[/del] giving away her trust fund money and causing a riot and she didn’t want to be again, and if Hubby had gone public with the lesbian affair she’d be a punchline. So he blackmailed her into hiding out in the guest house long enough to pass their ten-year anniversary which would entitle him to 50% of her assets.

I’m unclear about the phone call though.

Thanks, Otto.

Maybe the phone call didn’t mean anything. Or maybe it was from hubby (or Hallie), telling Patty to disappear.

The timing is still weird though, isn’t it? During the reception? They could have waited. It didn’t affect the vote about the Greeks, keeping her out of the way for a few days.

For those of you in the LA area, the show will be aired on Saturday night at 9 pm. There was a Lakers/Clippers game on KTLA.

For those of you in the LA area…well, gee, I guess you shouldn’t be reading this thread yet.

What I don’t get is, why did Patty Hearst need to be a character. Why not just be Patty Hearst? They’re already using the name–what difference does it make in giving her a character?

So, did we ever find out what happened to Wallace? Did we leave him with a fork in his eye or something? Last I saw my man was taking one on the chin.

I agree: ‘keister egg’ was a classic.

In fact, I thought the writing on the whole episode was quite sharp. I found myself laughing a lot. Good stuff.

Oh, yeah, and when did Logan turn into a crying little bitch? He just didn’t seem like Logan last night. I know Veronica’s dodging him and all that–effectively portrayed at the end there, by the way–but I expect him to put up a little more fight than that. He seems “tamed” right now (hiring the bodyguard for Roni notwithstanding). Not the cool smartass we’ve come to know and sorta love.

And I do hope they don’t turn Pizz into Roni’s next boyfriend. Not her type. She’d eat that kid for breakfast. Better she fly solo for a while (if she is indeed pulling away from Logan).

According to this TV Guide interview with her, she’s fine with playing a fictionalized version of herself, but not with actually playing herself. She wouldn’t have done the show if she was being asked to actually be Patty Hearst. I don’t know why, but there you have it.

This was the funniest episode of the year, though V was a bit manic a couple of times.

I’m not a Logan fan, but I am a fan of the actor. He really does a good impression of someone who’s been punched in the gut.

It’s funny- after the episode, Mrs. Lightnin’ turned to me and asked, “Is she supposed to be someone? 'Cause she’s awful.”

We had no idea Patty Hearst was, well, Patty Hearst.
