Very last resort for MST3K freaks

According to SATELLITE NEWS, the last episode forever will be on December 29.
Under that it says “A few fans have been posting on message boards about their wish to see a final marathon of the series. We think channel officials consider it if enough fans make their feelings known. The December schedule is still tentative and most likely can be changed, at least for the short term. So you still have time to write to them if you’d like. As always, snail mail has more impact than email”.

Exercise in futility or not, I’m going to snail mail the heartless bastards. Damn, I love that series.

Just want to point out that, between the constantly expanding number of cable channels and the desperate need for content, someone, somewhere, will be showing MST3K again. Probably the Sci-Fi Channel, in another year or two.

I also want to point out that it’s not the last chance. I’m downloading 6 episodes right now…

NOOOOO!!!

They can’t cancel it!

Those monsters!

Where are you getting then Smeg head???

Save me!

BTW, I possibly will be making a cameo on that episode, if it airs. After all, my nick’ is MSK

Not really, but that would be cool. My nick’ makes a lot of people think MSK / MST3K

Miller, sadly probably not. The MST guys only had rebroadcast rights to the movies they MSTed for a certain number of years. Catalina Caper was one of the first to vanish from the rotation and Sandy Frank has done his damnedest to buy back the rights to his stuff (He was apparently horribly offended by the “Sandy FRANK! Sandy FRANK!” song.)

So it’s not really likely that these will be airing again, sad to say.

Fenris

I’m wondering how many of them will even make their way to DVD, given the complicated rights issues.

Or, were DVD rights negotiated simultaneously with the VHS rights, such that every episode that came out on VHS will also one day be on DVD? I hope so.

Email me.
