Very mundane and extremly pointless.

I used to love this website, particularly the message board. I would spend hours sifting through all the posts every day, I just couldn’t get enough of it. Then, my world was destroyed. I logged in one day to discover that it was now a subscription service, or something along those lines. I was devastated.

Now, 4, maybe even 5 years later, I am delighted to discover that its back, and virtually nothing has changed. I am thrilled, and I just wanted to let all you other straight dopers know. Plus, I kinda wanted to see my join date number of posts…

You were aware you still had the ability to read posts while the paid subscriptions were in effect, right? I know I frittered away many unproductive hours thanks to these buncha geniuses.

There’s a lot of us lurkers posting for the first time these days. In some aspects the board is very intimidating - it’s going to take a little work adjusting the quality the reliability of my posts from the Internet standard to what this place expects.
