Very Superstitious-A Hockey Mojo MMP

Exactly.

MBG…interesting new friend. :dubious:

And I, too, love MMP-world.

Good move. You always want to have a chance to practice with an interview you don’t care too much about.

I was having the same question about the video, Nava. I thought it was quite amusing. I’ll have to go listen to it again, I guess.

taxi’s post reminded me that I also knock on wood. Although I don’t think it actually makes a difference. Maybe.

I added a whole post to the blog about the bread, taxi. Haven’t actually finished the post, but the bottom line is: yummy. And I’m pretty sure I didn’t do a particularly good job of baking it. I’m not a fan of white bread, but I’ve made it through nearly a whole loaf of the bread in two days. It’s been: 1) plain bread with butter, 2) toast with scrambled eggs, 3) Mexican sandwich with refried beans, ham, salsa and cheese, and 4) grilled ham and cheese. I’m going to experiment with adding some whole-wheat flour to a later version, but, for the moment. Yum.

Mac & cheese sounds really good, too, by the way. Also, need to finally get around to making that gingerbread.

Yep, it’s much easier for people to be mean-spirited in online reviews, Soapy. I suspect you might not being doing your job well if you were really popular. I imagine you’re the type of prof who actually expects students to ::gasp:: work and ::another gasp:: learn. Hugs, in any case.

I’ve always heard it called “telephone” as well, Nava.

Another entertaining video. With animated teddy bears.

Is the baby there yet???

Had grilled ham & cheese for dinner, with a mamey milk shake for dessert. (Just a small one, with about 1/2 a cup of mamey pulp, so it’s an actual serving of fruit.)

Should do something productive.

Back later.

Bother. Blood pressure’s back up. Kid, this would be a good time to come out, okay?

We had french toast and bacon. It was yum.

I know how you feel. It’s very frustrating when some ignorant student spews bile for everyone to see, even if you know they’re full of shit.

I haven’t made lesbian gingerbread in eons. Can’t seem to get all the ingredients together. It’s weird, the little stuff that’s hard to find in Korea (like baking chocolate).

Boyfriend sent an email with some relatively good news about his dad - they’re slowly dialing down the respirator to see if he can get along without being too dependent on it. So far, so good. It’ll take a week to be sure though. We just have to pray he doesn’t get a stray infection or anything, but the boyfriend sounds hopeful about coming home in a few weeks.

LiLI as long as it involved bacon, all is good.

Sneakin’ in a post before beddy bye time, which it definitely is for me, but gotta share this.

So, tonight was fish fry night. It was good. Catfish filets, fries, hushpuppies and coleslaw. A good time was had by all. Plus I got me a compliment.

The fryer of fish is somebody I really like. Really good guy and funny as all get out. He’s in his element when it comes to fish fries. He genuinely loves to prep and fry.

Anywho, as I said he is the master of all things fish fry and the man I called on and will call on again next week for our Lenten fish and chip Friday nights. Thus, whatever it takes to keep him happy I do. He mentioned he had a bottle of scotch in his truck and would really love a good scotch and water. No problem I said, comin’ up. He asked me if I really knew how to make a good scotch and water. My reply… “Dude. I’m Episcopal. I know my Catechism, my martinis, my bloody Marys and my scotch.” He agreed with me on the martinis and bloody Mary’s as he has had both in times past and he also said he would agree that I probably do know my Catechism since he’s never heard me fart in church ( like I said, the man’s a hoot!) but my true test would be if I could make him a good scotch and water. So, I make him a scotch and water over ice. He sips. He savors. He sips again. He looks at me, in front of young Priest, mind you and says, "If anyone ever doubts your Episcopal faith, tell 'em to come see me cause this is one damn fine scotch and water. You have passed the test. ":smiley:

Oh and I love mumper world too!

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Oh, lord.Weight Watchers recipe cards from 1974. I just laughed my way into not breathing. I particularly liked Polynesian Snack.

Dear og, what did they do to that chicken???

I loves me some Candyboots. My favorite is the Mackerelly.

I didn’t even read page one. Whatyougonnadoaboutit?

I had a lovely day at my library and am now home, having a lovely evening. My boss told me today that I am doing a good job. <blushes and digs toe into carpet> I like the library.

Hope everyone is well, and those who can about to give birth. That didn’t come out quite right, but you know what I mean…

No baby yet? Sheesh!

I managed to slog through another work day. Stupidity and bitchiness from the old section supervisor abounds. I think the karma fairy will be paying her visit soon. She is the most arrogant, least helpful person I know. Thank God I rarely have to deal with her anymore.

I have nothing exciting to report. Life is…well it just “is”.

Soapy, ignore the idjits.

I think those recipes would be quite effective for weight loss. One look at them and you never want to eat again.

See that’s the rub. I make a huge deal about how I see my students as peers and adults. My classroom policies all presume adult behavior. For example- I don’t do the whole excused/unexcused absence thing. You can miss four lab sessions. I don’t care why. Kid in a play go see it. Having a bad- stay home. Consider it PL time. But if you miss more than four lab sessions you fail my class. I’m not here to judge your priorities. But your actions have consequences.

So, everyone who is actually adult does really well. The ones that look like adults, but are still children, get a rude awakening. But I swear. These folks are going into medicine and research. Shouldn’t they have a bit of personal responsibility?

So, I manage to piss off a small minority every now and again…

Didn’t read. Still working. I just stopped by to complain about this darn migraine that Soapy gave me. She can have it back!!!:dubious:

Oh, my, LiLi. I laughed so hard, I cried. And posted to the blog. (Hey, it’s recipe-related!)

Glad to hear promising news on the Irish front, Haze.

Also finished the Italian bread post and added the scrambled eggs video, BTW.

Realized I forgot to congratulate BoyTwin on his Bar Mitzvah. Glad everything went well, SO.

Yanno what, Soapy? You’re supporting people who are willing to become grown-ups. Everyone else: not worth worrying about. They’re probably the ones who are in college for all the wrong reasons (i.e. Mommy and/or Daddy expect me to go to college and become a doctor). Your policy sounds INCREDIBLY fair.

Should do something to encourage me to feel like it’s bedtime. Maybe I’ll read for a bit.

Hugs to all.

I’m sitting in kimono, about to start my homework.

Hubba hubba!

sneaks into thread

No baby yet? crosses arms, taps toe impatiently

Please tell me nobody actually ATE the food on those cards. Please.

I sorry.

Gave sticky a 'puter virus.

That’s ok.

My work is finally done and my headache is just sort lurking right now. Hopefully some sleep will beat it fully into submission.

Actually it’s even a bit better than that: I’m in kimono, doing homework, watching Thundercats. It’s like the summation of my life in three nouns.

I took pictures (not of the homework and Thundercats part…) and I’ll post them on FB eventually. I have quite a few pics to put up actually.

I’ve seen the kimono pics before. How ya doin’?

Quite well. The dorms are having a mini-event that involved free food so I went around to all three buildings. It’s surprising how few comments I get. I think if I saw someone walking around in something strange I’d say something.
