Vice Presidential Debate Thread

Yep, whenever Biden put him in a corner, Ryan went to semi-relevant personal anecdote.

Then again, Republicans don’t believe in helping people they don’t know personally, so maybe that scored him a point or two with the base.

CNN fact-check says;

  • Biden was correct about Ryan voting to cut embassy funding.
  • Ryan was incorrect about Iran having enough enriched uranium to build five bombs.

I thought Diane Sawyer was gonna orgasm with delight over Biden’s performance tonight. She’s still going on about “Malarky” even now. How people can’t see these news people’s bias is astounding to me.

Oh, Jesus Christ…

Somehow I don’t think Wolf Blitzer will orgasm with delight.. :wink:

CNN’s focus group of undecided voters is a three-way tie between “Biden won”, “Ryan won”, and “Tie”.

Who are these people?

ABC ending debate coverage. Changing channel to CNN for post-debate analysis in this last hour of this 24-hour news cycle.

Shamelessly stolen by me as well.

Biden’s performance was calculated to excite liberals. It did that. but understand that the way liberals saw that debate is not the same way everyone else did.

Probably the kind of people who have no interest in politics and don’t follow the news. Why else would anyone be undecided at this point??

Not that the public at large gives a nanoshit, but he underscored something that is more or less taboo in politics: the difference between morality, which is basically personal, and ethics, which are usually societal.

You don’t think the polls are gonna show a Biden victory?

MSNBC had a good point, I think, a moment ago. Less than 48 hours ago, Romney made a big deal about, IIRC not being aware of any coming anti-abortion legislation that he’d support. Here was Ryan, tonight,basically saying that if elected, he’d work to ban aboption for all but rape and life-threatening conditions. Not that this was an unknowqn position, but I have a feeling the Democrats will be highlighting that, er, dissonant message over the next few days.

Looks unlikely at this point. Pundits say its a draw, CNN focus groups say it’s a draw. Waiting on CNN’s flash poll.

@Smapti

Probably people who watched the debate. I dunno what debate you guys and gals were watching, but Ryan presented himself fairly well while Biden looked like that old, drunken uncle you try to avoid at family gatherings.

We 47% are difficult that way.

I know we’re waiting. But you seem to be claiming liberals are wrong to claim victory. So you obviously think the polls will show a tie or Ryan win, right?

Biden won’t get 47%. he’ll be lucky to get 40% saying he won.

My early prediction: Biden 38%, Ryan 32%, draw 30%.

I know, anyone who has ever worked for a President shouldn’t be allowed on TV at all. Oh wait, you probably like Nixon don’t you, never mind then.

Gee, which one of these opposites should I vote for? :smack:
