Victor Adamic's "The House in Antigua"-Ever Heard of It?

I picked up an interesting old book (publishe in 1937)-“The House in Antigua”. A very nice read-about a (now) 400-year old house, in the city of Antigua, Guatemala.
The house was built by a Spanish nobleman, and passed through various hands (it was almost destroyed by an earthquake in 1775). Finally, it was purchased by an American botanist and his wife, in 1929. They restored the house to its former glory.
Anybody know who owns the house today?
And, can you do this sort of thing today? i was thinking this might be a neat thing to do, upon retirement.
