Victory of the Son of Man

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good site to work these things out? These are hilarious, and I wanna play!

I think it comes out as ‘The best thing to come out of the woods by the water’. Which isn’t saying much. That’s probably, like, a beaver or something.

Manly Otter’s Neck.

My beard was famous already before I was born.

(My niece’s abbreviated name would be Tribute to Risktaking)

At least it matches your screen name nicely.

For first names, a lot of people use http://www.behindthename.com, http://surnames.behindthename.com has a sizeable database of surnames, too. If your name is particularly obscure, you can try googling “<name> etymology” and hope for the best. Luckily, my first and last name both have really obvious etymologies. My middle name is a really corrupted variant so I didn’t know the true etymology until I looked it up.

Beloved (middle) son of the right hand (first, which is funny cuz I’m lefthanded) of Tim (my best guess as to the etymology of my last name)

Bee (of the) Lake (maybe waterfall), then something to do with sea snails or hills.

I am Pearl, noble brewer of beer.

should be *drinker *of beer, but maybe brewing is yet to come!

God has heard the resurrection of the worker of metal.

Or something like that, if you include my middle name.

I’m the Light of the Peaceful Valley.

I once had a waiter translate my name off my credit card and say, “Thanks, Miss Peaceful Valley.”

William Craig

William: A combination of the words will/desire and helm/protection

Craig: crag or rocks (crag-dweller)

So… Will protect your rocks (for food)?

Q

I am the Minor Prince of a small flock of game birds

FML

God is Gracious, Deceitful One

err… Thank heavens I can get away with everything I do? Sounds appropriate.

Dark colored, wealthy guardian who supplants. Actually that’s my real name in reverse.

Lesser meadow pure meadow.
How exciting, I’m somewhat redundant.

I am

Humble (but Brightly Famous) Farmer-who-works-with-horse-teams.

My family name is unusual, even in das alte Land.
Roddy

This is true! Perhaps I should change my screen name to ‘Probably a beaver, or something’. It’d be memorable!

Beloved man, son of the great one (not Jackie Gleason).

I rather like that translation.

“Honey roebuck.”

Victorious Wheat Paddock.

“The red-headed god is merciful.”

I’m Horatio Cain, I guess.

Including my middle name,

“The crowned black son of the servant of the god of the mountains.”
