Saw a brilliant montage on Youtube just now from 80s dating services.
Do any of the big dating sites have a video service?
I don’t know exactly why it faded out, other than it popped up in the days of VHS and I would imagine the mechanics of distribution were just far more awkward than classifieds in the paper. By the time online video came around, video dating had already been mocked into the ground. (This is all a WAG.)
As for right now, I don’t know of any site that offers a video option, but it shouldn’t be difficult at all to record something yourself, put it on Youtube, and add a note to your dating site profile directing people there. In fact, that actually doesn’t sound like a half-bad idea at all, provided you can make a flattering video.
