I have these images in my head of a video I saw many years ago, maybe a short from a TV show, or a music video.
The music is “Money Changes Everything” by The Smiths, and it sounds more like live versions I have heard rather than the regular recording. I remember the guitar work being more prominent.
The video consists of a guy walking briskly down the sidewalk, in rhythm to the beat, doing more of a strut than a simple walk. I remember a lot of shots taken from near ground level, the better to capture the swing of the legs and arms.
The guy stops a few times (during breaks from the reoccurring guitar rift) to talk to people, who then join him as the riff starts back up, and they all continue on down the sidewalk, in sync.
The guys have longish hair, I believe, and look groomed from the late 70s-early 80s. They walk sort of happy and cocky, as if they are strutting to the song in their head. The video has a humorous tone to it, but I don’t recall it being just for laughs.
Visualizing it, I think it would make a great video, but I am not sure if I have actually seen this sometime in the past, or have just imagined it on my own.
Anybody recall something like this?
