View New Post Question

Whenever I come to the SDMB to read and/or post, I always use the View New Post feature to peruse the board… I find that it’s much easier to use that than it is to try and read each individual forum.

Anyway, here recently I’ve noticed that when I click on the link that there’s a sudden cutoff at random hours that I know isn’t right. For example, I usually come here between 10:00pm and 12:00am local time after viewing the board at about the same time the day before to find that the “new” posts end at about six or seven pm.

I know I haven’t been here to read the threads or mark the fora read so what gives? Anyone know? Is it something I’ve done or am doing? A glitch here at SDMB? It’s annoying and I feel like I’m missing out.

The “new posts” should be any post created 15 minutes after your last “action” on the board, where an “action” on the board could be anything from clicking on a thread to read it, to editing your profile, to adding a post to a thread, etc…

Ah, that explains some of it but what about the times when I haven’t been on the board all day and it still cuts off at some arbitrary point in the day?
