Viking/Eagle game postponed until Tuesday

For the third week in a row, the date and/or venue has been changed for the Minnesota Vikings NFL Football Team.

Two weeks ago, the Metrodome roofed collasped, and the Giants @ Vikings was played a day late and in Detroit.

A week ago the Bears @ Viking game had to be moved to the Univ of Minnesota football field. Outdoors, at night.

And now tonights game at Philly has been postponed because of a forecasted blizzard to hit the Eastern Seaboard this afternoon.

Watch the storm move out to sea, and Philadelphia only get 4 inches of snow.

Oh, I’m a Vikings fan, and this is getting to be a bit much. Wonder if it will be televised nationally.

I think NBC will have the game Tuesday night

I am curious what NBC will be broadcasting tonight instead of the game.

Another airing of Its a Wonderful Life?:p:rolleyes:

Could the Vikings’ season possibly get any more bizarre? Every week it’s something else.

NFL.COM says that NBC will broadcast the game nationally on Tuesday night.

Its actually quite remarkable that this game is the only affected by the Nor-Easter.

The Jets, Giants, Redskins, Ravens and Patriots all have away games this weekend. Charlotte already played in Pittsburgh

What is with these pussies in Philly? Play the fucking game, it’s a little snow.

Anything to give Brett another day to heal.

When was the last NFL game on a Tuesday?

The snow is only going to fill the potholes. Besides, it’ll give them something to throw at the Vikings.

ESPN scroll says the last Tuesday NFL game was 1946.

Wonder what will happen if there is a similar storm at the time of the 2014 Super Bowl. The one in New Jersey.

the NFL will look foolish.

Seriously? When was the last NFL game postponed because of a few flurries? I thought the NFL played in snow routinely.

Some superstitious folks are saying that this year is karmic payback for the whole Favre resigning debacle.

As if the Metrodome would not have collapsed if they hadn’t resigned Favre.

Sheeesh.

I do feel sorry for the Vikings fans, though.
Sad sad sad.

Hey! How about those Falcons?
heh heh heh

Why was it bad karma to bring back Favre? What did he ever do that was so terrible?

Well there was that whole penis thing.

What penis thing? No one has made any accusations or complaints against him. That’s just an internet rumor at this point. Even Deadspin says it isn’t sure the pics are Favre.

Coming from a Philly fan, this is quite embarrassing… there is about 1/8-1/4" of snow on the ground… at 11:30 AM, with NO SNOW ON THE GROUND, the mayor called a state of emergency so that there would be no cars on the road.

At 3:00, there is not yet 1" of snow, and they canceled a football game that is to start in 5 hours.

The mayor best not show up at Lincoln Financial Field on Tuesday, or he will get the Santa-treatment.

My understanding is that by game time the forecast is for much heavier snow with 30MPH winds - near blizzard conditions - getting even worse by the end of the game. Folks might be able to get to the game with few problems, but getting home afterwards would be a real mess. Even if they hadn’t been drinking for the last four hours.

…And as an Eagles fan I’m trying to picture their passing game when the quarterback has trouble even seeing his receivers. Much less any chance of my knowing what’s going on from the much more distant camera views.

I would like to see the game played in a blizzard, but I do think they made the right decision.

for some bizarre reason people in philly don’t believe it should snow there. they have this delusion that they live in a no snow/no rain region. my mum would always say “it never snows in philadelphia”. she lived here for over 80 years!

they once called off schools and shut down the city for a storm that never showed up. the weather reporter (the only one calling for tons of snow) was run out of town on that one.

it was called off more for fan safety, and the fact that the mayor was planning on shutting down the roads for emergency only by 5pm. anyone on the road for a reason other than emergency would be ticketed. that would mean fans would have a bit of difficulty getting to and from the linc.
