Apparently, Mornidine was removed from the market because it caused hepatic lesions. Of course, I’m sure it was all worth it if your little woman could stop horking her guts out and cook you breakfast again.
There’s also this, from our good friend James Lileks.
Robin
That can’t really be a Coke ad… can it?
No, the infant gets the safety razor. I shudder to think of the earlier ads, where the baby *did * have a straight razor!
Either way it’s probably not a big deal. Slap a band-aid on that kid and then he can chill in the den with a Marlboro.
Don’t forget to use the lysol. Gotta get rid of them germs!
WHAT link???
Works for me. shrug
Try a cut and paste.
Sorry, WHAT is the source of an inside joke in my circle of friends.
And yet, there are so many folks even today who would think only to use it for it’s stated purpose. I have an elderly aunt and uncle who have a Hitachi Magic-wand sitting right on their coffee table because they have no idea that it could be used for anything other than a muscle massage. It’s the 800-pound gorilla for my immediate family every time we visit.
Smokes for Christmas, from Ronale Reagan.
That would be cool.
Is the “Bob’s Bar” poster advertising a glory hole?
But that’s just it: there doesn’t appear to BE a link in the OP.
That’s all I’m getting. Nothing to cut and paste.
Is Opera suddenly depriving me of good Intarweb content?
(I’m also starting to get new threads that have no posts in them–not just no replies, but no post at all–and I get errors when I try to post. Thangs is gettin’ weird…)

Try that – if clicking doesn’t work, cut and paste.
As for what Opera is doing – beats me.
In the OP the word ‘this’ is the link.
http://eatliver.com/vintage-ads/#null
But in the OP, the word “this” doesn’t appear.
At least, not for me.
twickster’s latest post:
Again: try WHAT? However twickster is posting the relevant content, it isn’t showing up for me. This is the first time that this has ever happened, and it’s weirding me out.
I am shocked. Completely and utterly shocked.
I had no idea they could do that.
I should note that I’m not blaming twickster. I’m just perplexed by the fact that whenever he seems to be posting a link, it doesn’t show up for me.
Note my quote of the OP, where Zebra claims the word “this” is the link:
The word “this” is missing.
It’s not that it’s there and I can’t see it: I’ve tried highlighting his posts to see if it’s concealed (which is what I originally thought he was doing). It seems that however he’s posting links simply isn’t coming through, and I’m getting nothing. The rest of his posts are fine. The links in other posters’ posts are fine.
This is really strange.
No offence to twickster intended. I’m just suddenly baffled.
That is weird. I have no idea what the problem is.
The address is eatliver.com /vintage-ads /#null
but without the spaces.
(And, FTR, I’m a “she.”)
My sincere apologies, ma’am, for the gender misrepresentation.
I’ve never experienced this (the link invisibility) before on this board, nor anywhere else. I don’t recall experiencing it with you, either (I’ve seen your name before, but gender/user name doesn’t always parse correctly–witness NurseCarmen, who has to deal with the same mistake from time to time). Nowhere have I ever seen links simply be gone for me in particular.
Here is the list of links that I CAN see in this thread:
astro (post 17): Another classic ad resource
GIGObuster (post 19): El - Wikipedia Santo
(I have a movie by that guy: Samson and the Wax Museum. Words cannot describe…)
MsRobyn (post 22): this
(A link to Lileks.com)
Bambi Hassenpfeffer (post 29): WHAT link.
I cannot see yours, twickster, and if Mr. Rosewater posted one, I cannot see theirs, either.
However, your typing out of the address DOES work (after I remove the spaces). So that’s something. The mystery of why links don’t directly show up from you to me in this thread remains unsolved.
Did Zebra’s link in post #34 appear for you?
(And no prob on the gender confusion, it happens fairly regularly.)
