"Vista Del Mar High School" in the movie Orange County

I just saw a few minutes of the movie Orange County. (Seems okay.) At one point, we are shown the high school the protagonist attends: Vista Del Mar High School. Especially for a public school, it is architecturally very interesting, and this fact is highlighted in the scene.

I looked up “Vista Del Mar High School” on google on the off chance the school really exists, but nothing came up. But it didn’t look to me like a set–I think the buildings really exist outside Movieland. If I’m right, does anyone know what purpose the buildings actually serve? Are they indeed a school, but with some other name? Or is it some other kind of place entirely?

Link?

I’d be willing to bet the buildings are real. Buffy, for example, used the old Torrance High for the exteriors of Sunnydale High. Probably the same thing was done here.

To what? I’ve got nothing to show you as far as I know.

I was hoping you had found some pictures of Vista Del Mar HS. From those it would be easy to identify the buildings. Oh, well.

Found it here. Its Diamond Ranch High in Pomona, CA.

Then I could have identified it if I’d seen pictures. We debate there every year. Glad you found it.
