Viva Las Dopefest!

Whoops! manhattan and I are in for dinner too. Thought we were already RSVP’d, sorry. We’ll be there.

Well, we could all put signs on our forheads that say “Doper”.

7 pm works for me. As for how to identify ourselves…I suppose we could all put signs on our forheads that say “Doper”…or “Dope”…

[sub] Hmmm. Maybe that isn’t such a good idea…[/sub]

Well, that’s it for my creativity for the day. Anybody else have any ideas?

I’ll be the one jumping up and down and yelling VEGAS!!! VEEEEEGGGAAAASSSS! with dollar signs in my eyes.

In other news, I think Diane is bringing nametags. I imagine we can tell the waitstaff to be on the lookout for folks seeking the StraightDope gathering, and folks can look for the group sitting around wearing nametags.

Zetter

Oh, sure. Nametags. You know, if these great problems of life were really solved by nametags, don’t you think I’d wear one a little more often? Nametags. Sheesh.

Or, possibly, yeah, nametags will work nicely. Thanks, Diane.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention something.

The good: I’m going to Vegas now.

The bad: My former plans fell through, which enable me to attend this Dopefest.

The downright ugly: I arrive at 5:15 a.m. Saturday morning. Will anyone be out & about then? How will I know who is who if I can’t be there Friday night?

Another question – are there cheap appetizers at Buca di Beppo? Can I try to reserve a spot if I probably won’t eat a full meal?

OK everyone- I’m off to work, then going to the airport. I’ll see you there.

Bristle, I’ll see you at the airport, Di I’ll talk to you Sat morning when you arrive (call my cell), and everyone else I’ll see you when I see you. (MrC, I’ll be up on Friday morning when you arrive if you want to call my cell and hook up to wander around a bit)

lel: Don’t know if I’ll be out and about then, but I’m mailing you my cell number- maybe you can get in, grab some breakfast or coffee, and call when the sun comes up? lol
I don’t know about Buca di Beppo, but I’m pretty sure we’ll get that all worked out.

If you call me, we can hook up and I’ll introduce you to the group I know, then you can meet everyone else Saturday evening, OK?

Later all!

VIVA LAS VEGAS, BABY!!!

lel, check your email, okay?

YAY!!! OMG OMG OMG! It’s here!!!

Oh yeah, and I’m bringing name tags.

Zette - you meant Friday morning, right? I will call your cell from the airport about 9:30 a.m. tomorrow. We’ll talk on the phone tonight for more definites.

Check your e-mail.

WHOO HOO!

OK, I tuned in late, and I’m having a hard time picking relevant details out of the back-and-forth in this thread. [b}bristlesage**, you can put me down as a probably for dinner Saturday nite, won’t be able to make it Friday, won’t be able to make the wedding, but congrats :).

Anyhoo, I’m off work today and tomorrow, but I have my Middle Eastern dance class Friday nite (can’t miss that, can I) and I work Saturday morning from 4:00 to noon. If anybody wants to come hang out downtown on Saturday, I’m still The Girl Who Deals Craps At The Horseshoe, so I won’t be hard to find.

Basically, I’m free Saturday and Sunday afternoons, if anyone wants to hang. Would somebody please e-mail me and give me a distilled version of the weekend’s activities?

I’m walking out the door. See ya! (yes, I meant Friday, Di)

That sounds great except that I get in at 8:19, so I’ll be hitting that hotel 8:45-ish.

How’m I gonna find all y’all?

I would assume that there will be some of us who hang out there for a couple hours, well past the time you’ll arrive. We’ll be the ones with “Doper” tattooed on out foreheads. Or, possibly, I hear there will be nametags. And if we really do get antsy, I suppose you could get a cell phone number from someone who has one. Then you can home in on the group during later activities.

Smooth.

I sent you e-mail Think.

Got it, thanks D.

One, possibly silly, question: I know this is a WeddingDope, but are we wearing suits? I mean, I’m figuring the kilt is out, right? (yes, I’m asking about the proposed dress code.)

Now THAT, Ladies and Gentlemen, is the definition of Optimist!

See ya’ll tomorrow!

Eric: Haven’t you met most of these people already? I’ll keep an eye out for ya’, I know what you look like.

dress code: clothes

Damn!
