Vodka and Orange Juice

When its not being drunk, the freezer. No, seriously. Vodka doesn’t freeze, and well, keeping it in the freezer gives it that authentic Russian/Polish (depending on where the vodka’s from) chill

Isn’t that Buck’s Fizz?

Yup! Well it is over here in the UK. Og only knows what those Americans call things

I definitely keep my jug in the fridge.
BTW, Who the Hell can afford champagne?
Hain’t got to the store yet for cranberry juice yet. Don’t plan to tonight.

Huh? OK, just ONE more.

Please? (Cat’s giving me a strange look)

Vodka in the freezer!

To recap, because it got a little confusing (to me, at least) in the thread:

vodka + grapefruit = Greyhound
vodka + grapefruit + glass with salted rim = Salty Dog
vodka + OJ = Screwdriver
vodka + OJ + cranberry = Madras
vodka + cranberrry = Cape Codder

(although these days, one seems to find this last drink called a “Cape Cod” more often than not)

Jesus TD Christ, I just priced cranberry juice this morning at the grocery store: $3.99 for a medium sized bottle! Bought a can of grapefruit juice for a buck and a half instead. Not bad.

What?! I didn’t realise cranberry juice was that expensive in the States. I normally pay about £1.50 max for mine. I thought you guys over the pond had so many cranberries you didn’t know what to do with them all!

I get frozen cranberry cocktail (52% juice, I think) for about $1.75 a can, to make 48 oz. Pure cranberry juice, besides being pretty undrinkable, is quite expensive.

Cranberry juice? Get WHITE Cranberry & Peach juice, instead. Makes THE BEST mixer in the universe.

Or you could take the orange juice and vodka and add freshly brewed Columbian coffee for a:

Screw Juan Valdez

covers head as he beats a hasty retreat…

add redbull to it

I used to drink something called a Slow Comfortable Screw on the Beach (when I got tired of one against the wall) but I can’t think what made it on the beach rather than against the wall. Pineapple juice seems likely, except I hate pineapple anything–although, I may have had to be drunk already to order this, so maybe I just didn’t notice the pineapple.

I keep my vodka in the freezer, and I used to keep my vermouth in the fridge–then I didn’t need any ice to make (and therefore water down) my martinis.

Vodka + pineapple + orange = Bay Breeze (tasty!)

vodka + grapefruit + orange = Sea Breeze

Cape Cods traditionally require a lime; a “vodka with cranberry” is usually called just that. (Hey, I had an anal bar manager.)

If you don’t mind expending a lil’ cash on an alcoholic mixer, a chilled vodka + Kahlua is a very tasty beverage…known to its fans as a Black Russian. (Add cream and it’s a White Russian. Add Coke to that and it’s a Colorado Bulldog. All are very tasty…Bulldogs taste, to me, like melted ice cream floats. Only more fun. Mmmmmm…)

Jake, for the record champagne is no more expensive than wine. The house brands are about $3.99 a bottle. (I like Marwood…with a little peach schnapps. Mmmmm.)

And vodka + orange + peach schnapps = a **Hairy Navel, ** vs. its softer cousin the **Fuzzy Navel. ** I never really understood the point of Fuzzy Navels, though…kind of like amaretto sours. There’s NO REAL ALCOHOL in 'em, dammit. If I want to drink a non-alcoholic beverage, I’ll buy a Coke and save myself the three/four bucks difference.
