VooDoo Brewery is having a beer event this coming Saturday. Anyone going? Anyone been there? Anyone thirsty?
I went to a wedding a few weeks ago that VooDoo was on the way to. I didn’t stop in but some friends did. They picked up a growler of a decent IPA and another of a cucumber ale. The latter tasted remarkably cucumbery. I was really impressed because I assumed that such a mild flavor would be so overpowered by anything else in the beer that it’d be undetectable. I guess it’s kind of unfortunate, though, because it turns out I prefer my beer to not taste like cucumbers.
I’ve actually heard good things about the cuke ale!
Now I’m having second thoughts about Saturday. Limited number of wristbands are being issued, and a friend just emailed me that she is going up Friday night. I told her I was planning on driving up Saturday and she suggests I leave my house at 4 am.
If you do go and you’ve never seen it, check out the giant mural made of old street signs in front of the PennDOT office in Meadville. I’m surprised it doesn’t cause more accidents from people driving along it staring at it.
I’ll be going, if not for Saturday’s event then some other day. I’ll definitely check that out! The bar opens at noon. If I drive up for the event and do not get in, I’ll have a 5 hour wait for a beer.
