Well, that’s the problem right there. I’m sure that the voters were looking for Basil Marceaux Dot Com and were confused when they didn’t see that name on the ballot. Too bad, as I would have liked to have seen more from him.
I have to admit, as a Decmocrat-leaning voter who filled out a Republican ballot (because the Dem candidate was unopposed), I was tempted to vote for Basil. But in the end I did the responsible thing and voted for the most moderate of the major candidates (which isn’t saying much) – who was Haslam, IMO. In fact I think he got such a large margin of victory because of all the democratic cross-voting.
But if I had known it would have been such a runaway for Haslam, I might have voted for Marceaux.com.
He sways.
He’s Elmer Fudd’s cousin.
He’s barely coherent and quite possibly has been mentored by Sarah Palin.
He’s a Republican candidate for governor of Tennessee.
“So that’s why the Internet sensation, who as a candidate came in fifth place during the Aug. 5 GOP primary, is going for a broader audience. He said he is mounting a full-fledged write-in effort as an independent in the Nov. 2 general election contest for governor.” Link.
Twicks happens to be a ‘my lady’ type, so go with that. And she probably won’t smite you this time, but she carries a Mighty Smite Stick. In fact, she had a special pocket installed in the side of her jackboots just so she’d always be able to carry it with her!
