Vote Basil Marceux.com for governor

Well, that’s the problem right there. I’m sure that the voters were looking for Basil Marceaux Dot Com and were confused when they didn’t see that name on the ballot. Too bad, as I would have liked to have seen more from him.

I have to admit, as a Decmocrat-leaning voter who filled out a Republican ballot (because the Dem candidate was unopposed), I was tempted to vote for Basil. But in the end I did the responsible thing and voted for the most moderate of the major candidates (which isn’t saying much) – who was Haslam, IMO. In fact I think he got such a large margin of victory because of all the democratic cross-voting.

But if I had known it would have been such a runaway for Haslam, I might have voted for Marceaux.com.

Thought about voting for him.

For just a split second…

He sways.
He’s Elmer Fudd’s cousin.
He’s barely coherent and quite possibly has been mentored by Sarah Palin.
He’s a Republican candidate for governor of Tennessee.

Behold him:

To the credit of Tennessee Republicans, he lost the primary.

Previous thread.

We’re doing this…again?

Merged vivalostwages’s Cafe Society Thread into an existing MPSIMS thread.

An excellent decision my lord (or possibly lady, please don’t smite me.) I was wondering how the guy fared.

Where is the Big Ten on FB and Ebay?

After the election Colbert noted not well - less than 1% IIRC. Not enough Colbert Report watchers in TN, obviously.

See post #18 for full primary results. Basil snagged 0.5% of the GOP vote.

basilmarceux.com is not giving up the fight!.com

“So that’s why the Internet sensation, who as a candidate came in fifth place during the Aug. 5 GOP primary, is going for a broader audience. He said he is mounting a full-fledged write-in effort as an independent in the Nov. 2 general election contest for governor.” Link.

He’s got my vote.com!

On the one hand, he’s loony (in a harmless way):

(Maybe he doesn’t realize that Democrats were eligible to vote in the Republican primary if they wanted to).

But on the other hand, I kind of admire this:

. Good for him! But I still think I’ll be voting for one of major party candidates.

So, there were three other candidates then?

See post #18. He was fifth out of five, with about 1/2 the votes of the 4th place candidate and about 1/100th the votes of the winner.

Twicks happens to be a ‘my lady’ type, so go with that. And she probably won’t smite you this time, but she carries a Mighty Smite Stick. In fact, she had a special pocket installed in the side of her jackboots just so she’d always be able to carry it with her! :stuck_out_tongue:

For the love of god, WHY HAS NO ONE POSTED THE AUTOTUNE YET?!

Sing with me!

From his wikipedia article:

Funny, in and of itself, sure. But at the same time, I thought…Only 25 points? Just how many people across the U.S. would vote for Basil Marceaux.com?

I’d vote for him simply in celebration of his work with the Freedman’s Bureau.
