The only reason I PUT that thread there was because TubaDiva said, in describing the forum “It’s also a place where people can have polls, run little contests, vote for what they like and dislike. You can be Prom Queen every day over there if you like (and enough folks vote you in).”

It’s not a contest, just a reference to another contest.
You are not asking people whether they like or dislike you; your asking them to vote for you, right?
Perhaps a new thread, reworded,“Who Should Be Prom Queen Of The IMHO?”, would be in order? hint
