Is it any good? (Other than your opinion of the show itself you madmen!)
A review on Amazon REALLY slams the packaging of this one. I liked the DS9 packaging and thought the NextGen stuff was overworked.
Anyone have it or seen it?

I’m waiting for the Region 2 sets from the UK. It’ll be a nice companion for the Deep Space Nine and Next Generation sets.
I can stand to wait a few more months. Even with the exchange rate, the sets will be about as much as the US versions and I’ll get the neat clamshell cases.
Paramounts claims it would increase the price too much to offer these type cases in the US. In most cases. I’ve paid less getting the R2 versions even factoring in the shipping charges.
Also, I’ve gotten all my X-Files sets from Canada. The packaging is exactly the same as the US version. I’ve paid $74.99 per set plus $8 shipping. The absolute cheapest I’ve seen the sets for in the US is $115!
Nope. I don’t own any of the DVD sets yet but intend to eventually.
I just don’t want to think of all the money that’ll be sunk into them. Assuming Enterprise goes its full seven, that’s thirty one seasons at around $60 apiece (I assume they’ll drop by the time I get around to buying them… it’ll be a while.)… that’s a good chunk of change.
The only ones i will buy are DS9 and TOS, and i haven’t gotten around to DS9 yet (since they are way too much right now) and TOS isn’t in boxed sets yet.
Not TNG? That’s surprising… why not?
I picked it up at Best Buy yesterday. The packaging is…interesting. A folder of five slim DVD holders in a two-part (top and bottom) case, which means that you have to take the entire folder completely out of the case in order to get to the DVDs. And its all transparent orange. From the wrapper it looks like each season will be a different color, so it’ll look like a rainbow on your shelf.
Content-wise, there isn’t (as far as I can tell) any commentary track on the episodes, but there’s an extra DVD of behind-the-scenes stuff, including some footage of Genevieve Bujold as Janeway. I also found two Easter Eggs. On the first page of the features menu as you scroll through the options there are two times when part of the ship in the background light up. If you select those you get two one-minute films.
Since I bought ot at Best Buy I also got a bonus DVD which is essentially a fifteen-minute commercial for the Star Trek Experience in Las Vegas. It did have some interesting background info on it, though.
I may not buy the rest of the series, though, as I thought Voyager went downhill after the first season. I am planning on getting the DS9 and TNG sets when I can find them at a more reasonable price.
I honestly can’t recommend the DS9 sets enough. I’m enjoying them immensely.
I online ordered Season 6 last week and Lady Chance got me Season 7 for my birthday yesterday (you guys missed it!)(HA!).
They’re really great.
I thought the ST:TNG packaging was a little too much but that the slimline DS9 was more efficient and cool looking.
