VW canada graduate program

Hello,

So I am buying a new (to me) Jetta 4 DR TDI. This is a certified pre-loved (as they call it) vehicle being purchased from a VW dealer. I am also a recent University grad. Lo and behold, VW.ca has a graduate rebate program. Says so right here for both new and pre-loved certified vehicles. So I am talking to my dealer on the phone and ask him about this. He says thats only for new cars. I point out that vw.ca says differently, and ask him if dealers must follow this program. He says yes, but the program only applies for new cars. So I call VW Finance, and ask them. I called them because its the number I get when I clicked on the “contact us” link. They say “nope only for new cars as well”. Grrr!

So I search and find a different number, call it, walk the woman who answered through the website to where I see the program, she sees it to and is very confused as to why I am having trouble. Opens up a ticket and gives me a reference number.

So thats good right? I have a ticket number. However, what happens if they still say no? Its in writing on their webpage, is that binding? Is there anyway I can take a snapshot or something of this page and prove it? Thanks.

You can’t just print the page?

Aside: Pre-loved? Why don’t they just come right out and say, “This car is fucked”?

Ask them very firmly what will happen when (not if, but when) one of your windows falls down into the door.

It is a known defect with many Jettas, including mine. When it happened to me, my car just happened to be too old for the free repair on this defect and it cost $400 to fix it.
Two other windows went over the next year :(.

I was told that when they do the service, they replace a cheap plastic part with a good brass one, so it only happens once per window.

They should Honor it. Mind you they only should honor it…doesn’t mean they will. Taking a snap shot of the page is easy, just [control] [print screen] takes a snapshot. But you can also just print the pages and bring them in.
