Waiting for Bob: A placeholder MMP

Appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed for TaterSon.

BBBobbio yes we do have the pleasure of sinkhole worry around here. This whole area sits on top of a hyuuuuuuuuuuuuge aquifer.

The <snerk> butts <snerk> have been turned and smell yummerific! I anticipate takin’ ‘em off the smoker around oneish and finishin’ 'em up in the convection oven.

We has an invite to dindin to a friend’s house who is a wunnerful cook. Seriously, she could serve boiled water and it’d be a gourmet delight. YUM! Can’t wait!

Not me, but I have one with a sharp tongue that luuuuuuurves to drill your nose for boogers. Not only is that disgusting on it’s own, but also the bitch is so persistent that I fear suffocation whenever she does it.

Taters, congrats on the Homecoming Spudlet nomination! Hope he gets picked.

I see swampy’s obsession with <snerk> butts <snerk> is back.

It’s been a good morning. I just took my break: I sat here, drank coffee, ate Cheez-Its, and read Broomstick’s zit sagas again. Good Times.

Maggie Wonderbeagle used to do that. Thank goodness she wasn’t a licker.

Annie nuttin’ says break time like Cheez-Its and a good zit story I say.

The <snerk> butts <snerk> are off the smoker, wrapped in foil and in the convection oven to finish up. I did it all by myself. I’m glad too, cause, while I love those who were wantin’ to help, it’s just easiest to do it myself.

I have also embarked on a mission to look at all the Books of Common Prayer in the pews to make sure that no pages are missing for at least Rites I & II of Holy Communion cause I picked up a prayer book off one of the back pews and noticed five pages were missin’ from Rite I. We just can’t have that now can we! So far all appear to be intact.

The things one will find to do while waitin’ on <snerk> butts <snerk> to cook!

Well, that’s the answer I want to give!

So far today I have said the following things, repeatedly…

No, they are not ready yet. It is not between 3:30 and 4:00 p.m.
No, I will not sit up here until six o’clock just for you.
No, I will not slice or chop it up.

Eta: NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

And in case you do not understand that…

NO!!!

Whew - it’s HOT out there!! We’re back from the fair - got to see sheeps and goats and chickens and ducks and turkeys and bunnies and cows and alpacas and Clydesdales and fried stuff on a stick and 4H crafts and cake decorating and all kinds of stuff. But doggone, was it ***HOT ***out there!!!

I did go into work and I got my stuff done in about 3 hours, so yay. I need to do a load of unders - I only have 1 day’s worth left. Guess I should get on it.

Incidentally, youse guys are slackers - it’s Firday and we’re still on page 3??

I fixed my broken camera! You actually have to put the batteries in opposite of what the markings on the camera case say. I could have sworn I tried switching the direction of the batteries but maybe I didn’t. Previous times I changed the batteries I must have just put them in facing the same direction as the old ones without paying attention to the markings on the case.

Stuffded - we did burgers on the grill and assorted appropriate sides. Dishes are loaded, first load of laundry folded, second in the dryer, third in the washer. Fambly headed to the pet store and best buy and when they’re done, we’re going to get a milkshake at Bert’s. I’m thinking of asking them to just bring me a shake.

I’m hot and sticky and icky from walking around the fair. I need a shower. And a foot rub.

That’s all I’ve got.

I’ve just returned from a trip to the bank and the grocery store.

I took my son along so he could pick out what food he wanted in our absence.

He chose Marie Callendar chicken pot pies, Campbell’s soup, some pasta and vegetable mix, fruit, and the fixing for homemade chicken noodle soup. He plans to make a big pot of it and have his buddies over. Yes, I trust him to have his friends over in our absence. He’s a good kid and not a party boy.

He didn’t win Homecoming King. He is, however, part of the royal court. Turns out the election was rigged by the ASB president who was also elected Queen. Yeah, she’s ethical, isn’t she. My son and half school think she is a royal, self-entitled bee-yotch. That’s a quote.

Well, I should get going with the packing. I need to sew a button on my husband’s favorite pair of shorts too.

By this time tomorrow, I’ll be on a warm tropical beach!

Sounds like the Homecoming Queen will be one of those girls who peak in high school…

It’s dark out and I’m tired… I may shower and hit the rack now. May or may not post tomorrow - we’re going to Baltimore and to my mom’s and we may not be back till this time tomorrow. So if you don’t see me, don’t panic. I’m sure I’m fine…

Exactly, FCM. I knew plenty of her type back in my high school days. Those were definitely their peak days. One of them actually drank herself to death about five years ago.

It’s sad that someone would end up that way.

A couple of buddies of mine were supposed to come into town tonight and we were going to meet up. I haven’t seen one of them in years. I’ve been waiting all night to hear from them and no call. I finally log on to Farcebook and find out they cancelled the trip and didn’t even call me.

I am so disappointed right now. I’ve been waiting all day to hear from them. There will be a strong letter to follow, but right now I don’t trust myself to write it.

There was an ominously thick envelope from the IRS in today’s mail for DH.

Seems they’re missing a W2 for 2008 and want over $1000. Fortunately, I have those records and within five minutes had a photocopy of the W2 ready to send to the IRS.

Meanwhile, I’m plugging away on yet another migration project.

glibby glop glooby

Nooooo!!!

I had that earworm for two days!!! go away!!!

I had a very long post about my day, but the hamsters ate it. Actually, I think I hit a wrong button and closed all my windows.

Short version - dentist for dad this am, eye dr this pm for me, new eyeglasses script, glaucoma touchy but ok so far, eye pressure a bit high.

Mr Rebo is taking the first half of his GED test, and feels confident about his essay question. “If you had a million $ to give to charity, not friends or family, who would you give it to?” He said the SPCA.

Later…

How inconsiderate of your friends, Spaz. :frowning: Hope you’ve been able to cheer up in the meantime.

Glad you had the W-2, gotti.

Sadly, the homecoming contest sounds like…well…high school. And, yes, a whole lot of those girls peaked right then. Have a wonderful trip, by the way.

Is it necessary to be so negative, Mr. Swampington Bear?

Yay for fixed cameras, Coyote!

Did you want to tell us something, rosie?

Yay for Mr. Rebo!

There was more, but I’m tired and I forgot. Car is all de-rattled. It was something rattling against the wheel and not horribly expensive. So, yay! Also, they replaced a dipstick because the handle had broken off.

Just got off the phone with Mom. She was extremely giggly. :dubious:

Off to sleepy-bye.

Hugs.

Not much so far. Culinary Boy has decided that tonight he’s going to be annoying and I’m just waiting for Computer Boy to backhand him. Computer Boy is a remarkably patient sibling. He silently ignores annoyances from his little brother that would have had me beat down by my older sisters after the third repetition.

I would crawl back under my rock, but tomorrow I have plans for Irish Brother’s early birthday. It involves a cheesecake. The joke behind that dates back to a few months ago when Irish Brother, Culinary Boy, and I went to Denny’s for dinner (because that was the only place open). The waiter was hitting on Irish Brother pretty hard. Irish Brother, who’s in a committed relationship, bewailed his fate on the way home because no one ever hit on him like that when he was single.

So what I’m going to do is knock on his door and when he opens it, ask him if I can tempt him with some ;)cheesecake.

On Sunday I’m going to see my sister and my niece who broke her arm last week. It’s easy to get me to visit my sisters’ kids: they just have to hurt themselves spectacularly! No, I really need to visit my niece and nephews more often. I’m a bad aunt sometimes.

The tailgate was fun, and the rookies played better than on Tuesday. They still lost. I’m off this weekend, so some friends and I are going up to Lake Gaston. Don’t worry if you don’t hear from me for a day or two, I’m not dead, just having fun out of Internet Tube range.

Sorry Spaz.

Does it involve coconuts and swallows?
