Not to mention the millions of people who presumed themselves to be widows or widowers, and had remarried over the intervening five years.
Think of all the younger siblings who were now older siblings!
I think I missed that she later died of the same cancer that was in remission. It initially seemed to me like she died of unrelated causes 2 years later.
No, the Dr specifically said the cancer came back.
I think most of Peter Parker’s class seemed to have been snapped. In Spiderman Far From Home, isn’t almost his entire class still with him in school?
Hmm. I said Vision should have been able to come back (by my understanding) because he wasn’t killed by a stone but maybe he was. Wanda had to use magic to remove the stone and kill him, so when Thanos used cosmic rewind to bring Vision back, maybe he had to use the power stone to remove the mind stone. Maybe it wasn’t his own natural strength. And Loki… I can imagine maybe he got forgotten about or Hulk was like “Yeah buddy I tried” to Thor and he really didn’t. He holds a grudge.
All four of the named characters - Peter, Ned, MJ, and Flash Thompson - were Snaptured. I think the implication is that half the class was Snaptured, and it just happened that the named characters were in that half.
Thanos was severely affected by the second Snap. The Infinity Gauntlet was literally fused to his useless arm. He was no match for the Avengers when they came after him to kill him.
…and I’m a complete nothingburger and I’m pretty sure my mums cancer doctor would remember me as well. That scene is grounded in something that would probably really happen. They remember.
And slightly off topic: but fuck cancer.
Again, I thought the implication was that destroying the Infinity Stones did the damage, not the second snap in and of itself. He certainly didn’t seem any the worse for the wear after the first Snap.
Especially if the daughter was Snapped away while at the hospital during the mother’s treatment. That would cause the kind of commotion that you wouldn’t forget.
He picked up Vision with the gauntleted hand, and pulled the Stone out of his head with his bare right hand. Wanda had to use magic because she was actually destroying the Stone. But Thanos was just pulling it out of his head, which took brute strength, not any Stone powers. Remember at the beginning of the movie he sent 2 of his henchmen to kill Vision and take the Stone out of his head, so it didn’t require another Stone to do so.
Sure he was. At the end of IW, the gauntlet was charred and damaged, and his upper arm and the left side of his neck were severely burned. And he appeared to be limping in the very final scene when he’s on his peaceful retirement planet. The first Snap definitely injured him severely. It may even be what originally fused the gauntlet to him.
I’m going to pretend he needed the power stone because it’ll drive me mad otherwise. I just need a semi-believable patch.
She didn’t use her powers to remove the stone, she used her powers to destroy the stone. Thanos just ripped it out of his head, he wasn’t trying to destroy it. That’s why Shuri was trying to carefully remove it earlier (she said trillions of neurons had to be rewired so it could be taken out and he’d still be alive), so then Wanda could destroy it while no longer attached to Vision.
Vision wasn’t killed by the stone, or by the Snap, he was killed by Thanos ripping the stone out.
All right, I may well be misremembering that.
Hey! What if Wanda cobbled together a new Vision from the remains of the Original Human Torch android (who had a cameo in the first Cap film)?
Well, Bruce Banner did alright for himself with a spaceship from a culture he doesn’t really have any knowledge of, using technology he’s never seen, despite not being a pilot and ‘not having a PhD for flying alien spaceships’… As Thor puts it earlier, ‘it’s just another spaceship’. But well, they probably just have really intuitive controls…
It was the Grandmaster’s leisure vessel, for orgies and stuff. So it probably had really easy and safe controls, so you could do barrel rolls and loops to impress your orgy guests without crashing.
It was also already flying. I think if you stuck a WWI pilot in a fighter jet that was already flying and said “keep it steady,” they could probably handle okay.
Funny but it is also easier to suspend disbelief for spacecrafts far outside our reality, than for things within our reality. We know what current fighter jets are like and how different they are than early planes. A fantasy future is another thing altogether.
I shared this on The Expanse thread but what cracked me up was how they made a big deal of one character knowing how to pilot a ship and then another character just pressed to start button like on my car and off it took!
