I would seriously like to see the scriptural basis for this belief.
You do have a scriptural basis, don’t you? I mean, it contradicts the interpretations of a significant number of Christian sects, but I am sure they just missed that passage. If you show it to me, I will do my best to pass it along to the proper authorities.
The best lack all conviction
The worst are full of passionate intensity.

Hell is the absence of God. God is light, life, peace, joy, happiness, contentment, love. Take those away and you get darkness, death, strife, sadness, gloom, longing, and hate (kinda like the world we live in).
Why would Jesus allow people who have not accepted Him to be condemned to Hell? Why wouldn’t He forgive them? What of all the good people in this world who happen to follow a different path?
Wally Jesus hasn’t come to take me yet, so my Master hasn’t called me home at this point in time.
1 & 2 & 3) Jesus is perfect and without sin. He is the only way to God. God and sin cannot exist in the same place. A person must realize he is a sinner and beg forgiveness from Jesus and believe that Jesus us the only way to God. If a person does not believe that Truth, he has no place in heaven because he does not accept the free gift of sanctification and redemption. He is-in God’s eyes-still a sinner. He has no place with God and is therefore banished to spend an eternity without God.
I beg to differ with your choice of words Nav…you do not beg Jesus for forgiveness of your sins…salvation is a gift given freely to those that ask forgiveness of sin through the blood of Jesus Christ. Through Bible study…and prayer…you begin to walk with Jesus…letting his example be your guide…he did not argue his points… he only stated them…knowing that some would believe and others would not. You cannot force anyone to believe or accept…only state your point…and guide by the best example you can set…which will not ever be perfect…because we are not perfect.
Um, nav, the absence of life, joy, happiness, and love is not the same thing as the opposite of life, joy, happiness, and love. Taking away happiness wouldn’t give you sadness, it would give you a case of the blahs.
The truth, as always, is more complicated than that.
