Want to know what hell is?

I would seriously like to see the scriptural basis for this belief.

You do have a scriptural basis, don’t you? I mean, it contradicts the interpretations of a significant number of Christian sects, but I am sure they just missed that passage. If you show it to me, I will do my best to pass it along to the proper authorities.

Hell is the absence of God. God is light, life, peace, joy, happiness, contentment, love. Take those away and you get darkness, death, strife, sadness, gloom, longing, and hate (kinda like the world we live in).

Sheesh…seems like the firey lake would provide ample lighting…

Hell is the Stairmaster, level 7, 1 minute left to go. Eternally. While being forced to watch Suzanne Somers’ informercials.

Why would Jesus allow people who have not accepted Him to be condemned to Hell? Why wouldn’t He forgive them? What of all the good people in this world who happen to follow a different path?

Soup there is no different path.

There is only ONE WAY! (John 14:6)

Nav, Soup asked you three polite questions. You answered none of them.

If you don’t know, please stop cluttering up the board with your gibberish.

By the way, it’s over. Your master called you home.

Wally Jesus hasn’t come to take me yet, so my Master hasn’t called me home at this point in time.

1 & 2 & 3) Jesus is perfect and without sin. He is the only way to God. God and sin cannot exist in the same place. A person must realize he is a sinner and beg forgiveness from Jesus and believe that Jesus us the only way to God. If a person does not believe that Truth, he has no place in heaven because he does not accept the free gift of sanctification and redemption. He is-in God’s eyes-still a sinner. He has no place with God and is therefore banished to spend an eternity without God.

There is only ONE WAY! (John 14:6)

I was talking about your other master, you moron. The one that runs your board as if it was his own little fiefdom.

Go and do your braying there.

Wally You were?!?!? NO WAY!!! Thanks so much for pointing that out!!!

There is only ONE WAY! (John 14:6)

Wally Please pardon my cynicism. I started to revert to my younger self.

Wally, et al…

This is getting out of hand. I dislike MBagnall’s methods as much, if not more, as anyone else here. Do not do this…please.

If you must, then at least invite your playmates to the Pit.

I beg to differ with your choice of words Nav…you do not beg Jesus for forgiveness of your sins…salvation is a gift given freely to those that ask forgiveness of sin through the blood of Jesus Christ. Through Bible study…and prayer…you begin to walk with Jesus…letting his example be your guide…he did not argue his points… he only stated them…knowing that some would believe and others would not. You cannot force anyone to believe or accept…only state your point…and guide by the best example you can set…which will not ever be perfect…because we are not perfect.

fuzzy-wuzzy I retract the word “beg” from my statement and replace it with “humbly ask.”

A seminar on time travel will be held two weeks ago.

If I get a chance, I’ll quote Carlin on Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, and Limbo. That’s almost as funny as his ‘Seven dirty words’ routine.

And Oolon Colluphid on Where God Went Wrong, etc.

Sorry, Vic, Roxy, etc., I joke about God, Christ, Heaven, Hell, and the whole nine yards. But then, I just think I’m a Christian.

Um, nav, the absence of life, joy, happiness, and love is not the same thing as the opposite of life, joy, happiness, and love. Taking away happiness wouldn’t give you sadness, it would give you a case of the blahs.

The truth, as always, is more complicated than that.

Hmmm. Still no scriptural reference for the lovely concept of Hades (ie: Hell’s Holding tank). I guess someone just made it up.

Why am I not surprised.
