Want to know your Elvish Name? Post it here!

Real Name: Valandil Lissësúl
SD: Eöl Melwasúl

Real Name: Mungo Toadfoot
SD: Grigory Chubb

You know…I think I prefer the elven ones. :stuck_out_tongue:

Apperently i’m related to Kythereia as an elf, and both her and Mr Bus Guy as a hobbit.

Elvish real name is Gilraen Ringëril
Elvish SD is Arwen Anwamanë
Hobbit real name is Pansy Sackville-Baggins !
Hobbit SD is Zelda Broadbelt of Buckland.

My educated Guess: I am a Programmer and Tolkien fanatic.

It has a large database of names. Flowery names for female Hobbits, Hobbit like names for males. A large index of Last names and locations for both.
The Elvish uses a list of Elvish male and female names from the books and then an Elvish word generator to build a list of last names.
In all cases the programmer has built a routine that uses a value based on your name to index these 6 databases.

If anyone wants more detail on their name I’ll will try to provide it, let me know.

AARRRGGHH!
I am Uglûk, the proud, Uruk of Mordor!

My elf name yeilds: Narnûlubat, the severed hand.
And my hobbit name gives me: Rûm, the swift.

Oxymoron there. Time for a bad Orc name, perhaps?
Time for Cruel and heartless Orc Name?
Time for a throat cracking Orc name?
I like the last.

Elvish Name = Alatáriël Elensar
Hobbit Name = Myrtle Hamwich of Buckleberry Fern

I’d rather be Elvish, but my orc name is:

Barash, the bloated - Uruk of Mordor

I don’t wanna be bloated.

But a good orc is a dead and bloated orc, or dead and burnt, or dead and buried.
I think there is a pattern here.
I got it.
A Good Orc is a dead Orc.

Somewhere on the site it explains the program (I found it a long time ago and am explaining this from memory, so no link):

There are three lists of names, taken from Tolkein’s indexes: female first names, male first names, and last names. The program takes the first and last letters of each name given and matches it to a name on the list. John Smith matches to whatever name is next to JN on the male name list and SH on the last name list. So Kythereia and Dolores Reborn don’t necessarily have the same last name, but the first and last letters of their last names are the same. One is Parker and the other is Potter, or something.
