Ah, okay. I’ve seen the Wentworths and knew they were for auctions, but didn’t know you could just store things there too.
There’s always been a Yellow line tram stop in Skyway…do you mean there’s a Green line there now too?
That’s one thing that bugs me about Heroes- it seems much harder to get around, and the contacts are more likely to send you all the way across the city for missions. It’s much easier to get around in the Rogue Isles because of the ferry system, and contacts usually send you to doors within the same zone.
I’ll look for Death Wail online.
Thanks for the valuable info, Lok. Nice summary of the things I’ve been wondering about so far.
Yep, there’s a Green Line. And true, Hermit. There’s two reasons. First, they shuffled contacts around in mid-late CoH beta, when they added Galaxy City and pulled the Brawler out of King’s Row. (Which is why there were no shops there)
Secondly, CoV is essentially a sequel-partner to CoH. They learned.
Thanks. I knew that, I just meant that playing the character enough to put together the IOs I’ll want will be kind of dull since all I have left is a couple of TFs I haven’t done yet, the Shadow Shard, and various repeatable, but almost story-free, missions.
Another thing for your list:
[ul]Castle has been added to Peregrine Island as a trainer.[/ul]Very cool addition, in my opinion.
There’s all sorts of uproar on the CoH forums about the change in enhancement drops. People think they’ll have less money handy because they won’t have DOs and TOs to sell at high levels. They don’t realize they’ll be making money with recipes and salvage that should more than replace the enhancement cash. Personally, I’ll be really glad my enhancement tray won’t be filling up halfway through a lot of missions.
Yeah, that is pretty much everyone’s reaction. The hard part is remembering they are there. I found myself heading to AP a couple of times to sell because I was full in KR and I have been doing it for 3 years. :smack:
You have personal storage that is always with you, and there is Vault storage, with access from Pocket D, SG bases, and vaults doors in the city zones. All the Vault storage is the same stuff, you can just access it from different places. I saw someone on Test say they opened their Vault in a city zone, then went to the university with it still open, so they had access to all their salvage at once when inventing. I don’t know if this will still be there when it gets to live. The benefit of doing it like E-Sabbath mentioned is you can store up to 10 of one thing in each CH slot. The downside is, you are taking up one of your auction slots and they are limited depending on your level. But it is very handy.
Sorry, forgot to mention it was Green line in both FF and Skyway. It is in the South near Faultline. And again it can be hard to remember it is there. I found myself leaving Boomtown and IP heading for the south end of Steel Canyon to get to the Yellow line for Skyway, instead of just catching the Yellow line. It is a very nice addition, just takes some getting used to.
Yeah, it will be nice when they add some more missions, TFs, or Trials for 50s. I have altitis big time, but I still like playing with JB and doing missions. I have high hopes for I10 in that regard. I forgot about the addition of Castle to PI. Playing my low level has kept me out of there for the last few weeks. :o
Some of the people there have actually listened or even went on Test and tested that their influence level will not be destroyed. But there are people in the really big thread complaining that they will not be able to slot the DOs and TOs so they want them back.
Then there are some that want nothing to do with Inventions (no big deal, don’t make them) but want the drops to sell. They apparently don’t believe the people that tell them they can sell the salvage and recipes at the NPC store like they do their current enhancement drops. I am of the firm opinion that some of the people in that thread just like complaining, since what they are complaining about is nonsensical.
It does make sense, from a certain limited interpretation of Positron’s promise that they (those who slot only SOs) would be able to continue playing the game “the same” as always. That, of course, is broadly interpreted to mean that nobody, including the DO-slotters, ever have to touch the grubby salvage at all with their pristine fingers.
In one of the early threads I was upset by the lack of TO and DO drops myself, but when I found out you can sell Invention Salvage, Recipes, and even unwanted Base Salvage at the stores, I realized that there’s no material change to the system at all: you’re still going to the same stores and unloading surplus.
Incidentally, I started a thread in COH General Discussion called Stan and Lou: COH Comedy Audio. That’s me: my forum name (and global) is Hertz.
Hey, that’s you?
Want me to try to get Ascendant on your show?
Who’s that?
Oh, and as a P.S., huh?
P.P.S. DJ Jester of w00t Radio is going to be putting all of the audio files up on the w00t Radio page at some point. As far as I know he’s still working on it.
Not realizing you could sell the salvage and recipes is one thing. But the thread I read mentioned several times you will actually make more Inf by selling them then by selling enhancement drops and people still didn’t like it. That is just being an ass.
You do Stan and Lou? That is great stuff. Ascendant was a player at the start of the game that did some really great stuff with binds and such. He used to do some phone calls at the tram stations that were known thoughout the game. Even now people still talk about Ascendant-Os the cereal he was a spokesman for.
Has anyone gone to the Abyss to fight the Hamidon on the villain side?
Also mentioned was that salvage vault slots will be determined by level. Sounds like a reason to keep the 50s active.
To make it easier for you to find me, my global is @E.Normus
or look for E.Normus on the Victory server, I log in often to handle SG stuff like handing out infamy, inspirations and single-origin enhancements.
Be sure to click on the link he has as number 2 on his list.
I’ve actually stood in a train station on Virtue for half reading the Local channel as he spoke to Saul on the payphone. Funny guy. He’s greatly inspired by Bob Newhart.
Stan and Lou are great! Why don’t you hang out with us in the C.E.C.I.L. global? We could use some cool people. Wait, I mean we could use some more cool people.
edit time expired.
for half an hour
I’ll have to try to sign up for C.E.C.I.L. when I get back to my computer next. Is it a global channel? I forget how that works — I’m signed up for so few of them.
Aha ! So that’s the Ascendant that the NPC at the tram is referring to. I thought it was those Council guys.
Yes, it’s a global. Just open the Tab menu and use Channel Search to find it, or type it into Join Channel.
It’s CECIL, I think, rather than C.E.C.I.L. Either way, it’s Cecil’s Extraordinary Counter-Ignorance League.
Yes, it’s CECIL.
Issue 9 is going live today.
The servers are going to be back on at 1pm Eastern time. Just waiting now.
Look for me on the CECIL channel; I’ll be around.
All accounts over 90 days old reactivated for a while due to I9 going live! Have fun!
Holy crap!
I should’ve checked here like 5 hours ago; I wasn’t feeling well this morning so I took a sick day.
