Wanted! City of Heroes Players!

I soloed 100% of the time

Here’s a shot I took in a high-level zone, (can’t remember the name - it was that zone completely overrun with giant Devouring Earth) where I was simply trying to obtain the exploration badges. It was harder than I thought it would be:

I can’t link directly to the kickstarter, but you could search for Missing Worlds Media on that site.

Got my pledge in.

At 2:30 this morning, according to Kicktraq, they were 9% funded, trending toward making $1.000,000. That doesn’t really mean anything since the beginning of a well known project is usually pretty good. And the trending function there makes some unwarranted assumptions regarding project progress. At 11:30, they are 25% funded and trending toward $2.8 million. Obviously still very unrealistic, but fun to look at.

Are we allowed to make separate threads about Kickstarter projects? If so, I feel having a separate thread for The Phoenix Project would be beneficial, if only in the number of eyeballs that may learn of the Kickstarter project and spread the word.

There is an older thread on interesting Kickstarters in general. I’m not sure about doing a thread for this specifically. You would have to ask the Mods about it.

36% as of 5:00.

I’ll look into pledging a few bucks when Congress gets its collective head out of its collective ass.

Well, you don’t have to actually pay any money right now. It is just a pledge to pay if they hit their goal. I am off work right now and still pledged $75 since I expect to be back at it before November. If I get back to work early enough, I will add more to the pledge.

Mods have given me the nod, so I’ll be posting shortly. Mostly because, while this upcoming game is trying to be a spiritual successor to City of Heroes, it isn’t City of Heroes. I’ll be making a stand-alone thread separate from this one to give special attention to The Phoenix Project. Hopefully people will read and contribute, or spread the word, or whatnot. That’s my intention here: spreading the word.

Spreading the word is definitely a good thing.

I’m conflicted. I don’t have the time for MMOs any more, but I want to support this…

I’m going to support it simply because CoH was the one MMO that very nearly made me give up World of Warcraft. I even canceled my WoW subscription for six months because I was having so much more fun playing CoH … and then NCSoft pulled the rug out from under me at precisely the same time that WoW was releasing the current expansion.

I’ll admit that I’ve been lazy, though. I have a desire to get involved in The Phoenix Project, as a writer, but I haven’t thrown my hat in the ring yet.

Pledged. Like a boss.

I ran Agoraphobic Man, my permanently Level 1 defender, to the Storm Palace–the Death Star, not just the zone. I also collected every exploration badges I could reach with only Sprint in every Shard zone along the way. (Full disclosure: I did it over the course of several months. :D)

I also won the Repeat Offenders Ninja Run race, in which we created neon ninjas and raced on foot from City Hall to Portal Square, collecting a badge in each zone to mark our progress.

Ho lee crap.

NOICE.

I’m in. I want my City back, and this looks like the closest I could get. I think it’s a long shot, but that’s what being a hero is about - betting on the long shots.

Yeah. There are a couple of other things going on, but Heroes and Villains doesn’t seem to be nearly as far along and Valiance Online is from outside the fan community and I’m not sure where they came from.

Looks like the Brotherhood of Steel has established a presense in Paragon City.

Well, I ran solo, but I have to admire such an organized effort to “Level 1” the city. It really wasn’t too hard after you got to the zones where you were a meaningless gray to the mobs… but it was still a thrill.

I kept up 2 pay accounts to the end, even though I didn’t play very often and no one in the family played any more. It was worth it to me just to know I could go spend some time there at a VIP level when I felt like it.

I know I’ve said it and many have echoed the sentiment, but god *damn *losing Paragon City left a hole in me.

I don’t really know anything about them. Just saw their effort mentioned on the Titan Network forum, so I know they exist.

You were never grey to the mobs. If you were a level 1 and walked up to a level 50 Rikti, he would step on you. They only time mobs wouldn’t attack you was if they were grey to you and you didn’t bother attacking them.
