I agree with the people who think that Jack/Myka shouldn’t have hooked up–I bingewatched the show and saw the last episode as part of the binge and it was just creepy. Up until the final season, they mostly had a brother/sister relationship (yeah, there were occasional hints of more, but 95% of the time, it was more familial closeness.) Ick.
I loved the 42nd Street number for Claudia’s flashback.
As an aside, what happened to Jack? He looked terrible. I mean…honestly? I wondered if he was undergoing chemotherapy or something–between the utterly Shatner/Trump-esque toupee and the 23 lbs of pancake makeup and the way to much rouge/blush (red stuff on his cheeks)…did he age tremendously due to an artifact since S4? Is he sick?
Fenris, I’m assuming you mean Pete, not Jack. As near as I can tell, it’s his real hair. Might have something to do with his Bones role, as he looked too much like the lead with it shorter and slicked back.
Yeah–Pete. I have no idea where I got “jack” from.
To me, it really looked like a bad toupee. Look at him from any side view that shows his ear (especially his left) and there’s a clear line. And the front of his hair doesn’t move right.
Well, I’m a couple episodes behind, but I don’t mind being spoiled. Since Myka and HG don’t end up together, I don’t really see a reason to keep watching…
It seems that it followed a familiar pattern. First season or two, pretty much just episodes. Then a “long story” begins to run in the background of the typical episodes. Soon, the long story takes over (but changes from season to season). Finally, the long story is all that’s left, and it’s so bizarre that the show almost becomes annoying.
Don’t get me wrong, the hair threw me off, also. I guess they really didn’t care about the whole Secret Service thing anymore. I just couldn’t find anything indicating any hair related issues or that it was a toupee. I did find something that in his initial Bones appearances (not this season) they had to change McLintock up a little to differentiate him from Boreanz (or however you spell his name).
Liked the finale for the most part. The bit with the dance number was awesome!
I didn’t really like that they suddenly gave Artie a son that he’s never mentioned before. Not much point to that.
I’m okay with the Pete/Myka relationship, though I wish they’d let Myka have her realization in the previous ep or sooner, since it’s been obvious Pete loves her for a while now.
In the “several decades later” part, they should have showed Trailer’s great-great-great-great-grandpuppy.
Personally, I thought the clip-faux idea was a brilliant choice for a finale.
I’ll miss the show because it was fun to see each week what crazy artifact voodoo they’d dream up. I’ve been saddened by the fact that they seem to have cut way, way back on dreaming up new artifacts as the show started winding down, relying on things they’d already established more. I prefer my endless wonder to be something new around every corner, but that may just be me.
Anyway, Pete finally gets to Ophelia Myka’s boobies, so I think the show ended well for everyone.
It would have been nice if they had short shots of what they gang was doing “decades” later but I was thinking maybe it was more decades later than the gang lived so I’m ok with it.
I loved how the warehouse threw Artie an apple when he was bitching and then he instantly felt better.
