(WARNING: GROSS)To the subhumans who think it's fun to torture animals...

I don’t know what to add to this thread? Maybe only to say that at least here in Sweden I know the entire country would be outraged! I have lived here nearly 5 years and have never seen a stray dog OR cat in that time. The people here take owning animals very seriously, and lovingly accept all the responsibility that goes along with it.
I am so sad to know there are people like this sharing the air I breathe…

Sorry, but this–

–sounds to me exactly like the raping evil fathers and stepfathers who tell their little girls, “I have to have sex with you to teach you what people are capable of.”

No, you don’t have to show us pictures of tortured animals in order to make us believe what people are capable of. We’re not stupid, nor are we naive. However, it’s a nice try at a rationalization for getting away with posting nasty stuff at the SDMB.

Walking a fine line there.

Thumbs up to Lynn for removing Link #1, whatever it was, and one vote here for removing Link #2. It’s not necessary for the rant, and it’s obscene and vulgar, IMO.

Thanks, DDG, for comparing me to child-raping fathers.

In afterthought the links were superfluous and I have apologized already and filed this info for the future. But not the pictures are obscene and vulgar, the things that humans do to animals are.

Nope. Some of us are a little quick on the trigger, though.

“Raping evil fathers”, to someone who’s genuinely ranting about people who torture animals? Get a grip, DDG.

I didn’t see the pictures and hope I never do, (thanks for removing the link) but this is part of the reason that I’m a vegetarian. THe fact that there are people like this in the world… I sort of feel like I have to swing the other way to balance it out. There is so much cruelty and evil in the world, that if I can stop even a little bit of suffering by my own actions, I’ll do it.

(if you want to bash me for being a vegetarian, or for having these feelings, save your breath, ok? I really don’t care what you think.)

UPDATE for those who are interested: our local newspaper ran an update on the story about the dead Australian shepherd puppy: the police have found the slime who did it - a 50-year old German man. Due to the extensive local media coverage some neighbours noticed that this guy’s puppy (which he had bragged about saying “I paid 2000 euros for it” and “I will train him to attack people”) was gone. So they informed the police and they are currently busy asking him questions.

Unfortunately killing/hurting animals is still only considered “damaging property” under German law (due to change soon), which will probably limit the punishment to a fine. Well, let him bleed…
