Standing in the shower this morning, I noticed that about three-quarters of the products in my shower listed the main ingredient as “Water (Aqua)” and further down the list was “Fragrance (Parfum)”. The other products just listed “Water” and “Fragrance.”
Two questions:
-
Why the attempt to be multilingual on some products but not others?
-
Why the mixed languages? Water gets Aqua (Latin?) and Fragrance gets Parfum (French).
My one and only theory is that there is some specific chemical meaning to Water (Aqua) versus just Water.
Any ideas?
