When all of the inner workings of the Trump administration are finally laid bare, in how ever many decades from now, people should be prepared for lots of debauchery.

So Lawrence O’Donnell is deconstructing this lawsuit with one of the Plaintiff’s lawyers. I haven’t read the .pdf and didn’t realize that there are allegations that Giuliani was selling pardons for 2 million dollars per, with the money being split equally between Giuliani and Trump.
According to Ms. Dunphy’s attorney, Justin Kelton, while there are no recordings of these transactions, there is corroborating evidence via various witnesses.
Just… fuck.
Which is pretty much what happened
Just the other day some students I work with watched a video about the Fresh Kills landfill and how it was closed down thanks to Rudy. Now it seems that he and the landfill had even more in common than I expected from his previous corruption and stupidity.

I gotta say, I’m struggling a little with this too. As far as power imbalances go, a 40 year old woman taking a million dollar consulting job seems a bit weak.
Promised: a million dollar consulting job and legal representation on her case against her abusive former partner.
Received: Very little money (but the ongoing promise of receiving it), pressure to drop the case, and a vast amount of sexual abuse. So both financial and psychological pressure not to immediately run.
Also: remember that she was already a victim of an abusive relationship, which Giuliani (allegedly) used to bully her further. There was a metric shit-ton of existing trauma there before Rudy (allegedly) added to it.
I know it’s Rudy, but reading his quotes I keep seeing Dennis Hopper’s character in Blue Velvet.
This is a classic Trump tactic that he has employed over many decades. He hires someone (a lawyer, say), promises to pay them a large amount after they have taken whatever legal action he wants, then stiffs them and has someone fire them with the excuse that they didn’t get the result he wanted. How he’s gotten away with this all this time is a mystery to me. Rudy Ghouliani learned at the foot of the master.

Watching Lawrence O’Donnell last night, this really floored me. Every allegation was bad enough, but then wait, there’s more! Again and again and again. Selling pardons for $2 million each I hope will be at some point held against his partner in crime, Diaper Don.
Why can’t these things come out on a Saturday about 8 pm so we can pop some corn and make a night of it?

If we’re being technical, then she was (allegedly) a victim of an abusive relationship. I couldn’t find information about it other than what’s been posted here. Which makes sense, as she wasn’t a public figure prior to connecting with Guiliani.
The rest of what I’m going to say is going to make me sound shitty but… whatever, it’s the pit, and this is the uphill battle she’s going to face if this goes to jury. But my guess is it’s not going to go to jury, and that’s not the intent.
According to Dunphy’s LinkedIn, aside from a couple of internships, she’s made a living as a model, writer, and PR consultant. She appears to be connected to a bunch of different charities, and her personal blog has photos of her at a bunch of charity fundraisers. I’m guessing that’s how she met potential clients, including Giuliani.
She does not have a resume that justifies a million dollar salary in business development. So either she’s incredibly naive, or…
Is it a problem that a rich asshole can dangle a couple million bucks in front of a struggling model to coerce them into sex? Yeah. But the whole employer/employee angle her doesn’t really resonate with me.
I would not have guessed that was the case. She’s not unattractive, but not a one of the photos I found on Google have the sort of ability to pose or make facial expressions that I’d imagine a successful model would have.
Instead, she looks like someone who’s trying really hard to look like she does, instead of just having a natural look/pose.
I have a long-time friend who is an HR/Labor attorney. One of her best pieces of advice in terms of sexual harassment is to be the kind of person about whom – if asked – every single person you know would say:
Him? Never. Not him. It’s simply not in his character.
How many people do you figure are lining up to be that kind of character reference for Rudy?
