Yes. China made a point of slapping retaliatory tariffs specifically targeted against Kentucky bourbon and Tennessee whiskey, for example.

I agree with that and think it goes a little further - they also think “If I were in their position I would do the same thing.” That type of thinking is why they vote against their own self interest. Tax cuts for the rich are good because they wouldn’t want to pay a lot of taxes if they were rich. They can’t see that the people who get the tax cuts are actively working to prevent them from getting rich in the first place.

Actually Perry has turned out to be both quiet, non-idiotic and surprisingly competent as Secretary of Energy.

I find it kind of remarkable, considering that he wasn’t known for any of those things as Governor of Texas.

I don’t believe the courts have any jurisdiction over impeachment. But even if they did, since when are obstruction of justice and emoluments not high crimes or misdemeanors??

Let’s also note that both of the quotes, from Trump and his loyal follower, displayed stupidity not just in their content but also in their tortured grammar.

Comacho was the kind of president you’d want to have a beer with, even if he was going to take one sip and then crush the can before throwing it away. He was a porn superstar and you know damn well he didn’t pay anyone $130,000 (or if adjusted to 2505 dollars, quite a few trillion more) to cover that up. And instead of being nothing more than a punchline in the wrestling world, he was a five time ultimate smackdown champion! When challenged with “I got a solution… you’re a dick! South Carolina, what’s up?!” he didn’t spend the rest of the movie trashing South Carolina. And most importantly, he recognized that his United States of America had some serious environmental issues and he personally recruited the smartest man in the world to deal with the situation.

Now you’ve gone and made me wish that we were living out Idiocracy. Really, I feel more that we are living out that episode of Star Trek where the Federation was the Empire, it was evil, and Spock wore a beard.
