And by the way, she is serious about the questionnaire. She does not just sell dogs to anyone who has the money. She’s a fantastic steward of them, and insists that their owners feed them a certain kind of dog food, even, the one that she knows is best for them, or it’ll void their warranty.
I thought to myself, ‘wow, purebred puppies are even more expensive than purebred kittens’, but you know on a per pound basis they’re a bargain compared to Linden

Our roommate’s dog, Shimmer, is due to have a litter on Tuesday. Prepare for more puppy pics soon!
Where’s the “bated breath” icon?
Let me tell you a little about Shimmer.
She lives in the back area of the house, taking up the kitchen, dining room, laundry room, and her owner’s room. Whenever she’s outside her owner’s room, she’s on a rope, because she has a tendency to go out the dog door of the laundry room and then leap over the fence.
She is, of course, a Samoyed, as all the dogs here are.

No contractions yet, but the poor girl is whimpering on my landlady’s lap, and is being comforted.
C’mon Shimmer, you can do this.
My landlady thinks that Shimmer is now pushing.
By the way, this is Shimmer’s first litter, and she’s kinda freaked out about it. Shimmer is, I mean.
Landlady is gathering supplies. A puppy scale, a pencil and paper, and some identifying ribbons.
Shimmer is yelping and clearly having contractions.
Landlady is kneeling in the whelping box with Shimmer and setting up puppy pee pads.
“Guess I’m not going to church tomorrow,” she just said.
Taking care of a dog and her pups counts the same.
My landlady stuck a finger in, and there was a baby at the other end of it. Puppies are imminent. She can’t feel very many, though. She’s guessing anywhere from 1-3.
The first puppy’s water has broken!
