We interrupt your regularly scheduled MMP to bring you this Early TV Mockumentary

puppies!!! <insert considerable annoying squeeing here> Teensy tiny puppies!!! Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!

For the record, I think I’m all better and back to normal. Well, as normal as is possible for me. So I’ll be back at the office tomorrow. That’ll give me a 3 day week after a 2 day week after a week and a half off. Tough schedule, eh?

Squee!!!

:: falls over ::

::me, too.::

Note to self: make sure the burner is turned off before moving the cast-iron skillet full of oil on it. :smack:

All the fans are going and there’s an open window in every room yet the house is still full of smoke.

Are you OK, at least? That’s a wonderful way to set fire to a kitchen, and to give yourself severe burns. One of the Hell’s Kitchen contestants recently got second+ degree burns by grabbing a burning pan.

I CAN HAZ IZECOOBS? It’s expected to be triple-digit hot on Thursday and I need to stock up on cold beforehand. Wouldn’t surprise me if Invisible Tenant is even more so this weekend, racking up overtime hours fixing blown-up air conditioners.

OMG, kaiwik, those puppies are cuteness overload! LOL They are so teeny, though, and poor Tara --she quite honestly looks like a frazzled mama. Aww!

Yikes, I almost got thrown off the bus (public transit) this afternoon. Firstly, I had been waiting over an hour for a bus (there were several that didn’t show up), and when this bus pulled up to the stop, it was packed. There was a seat up front, though, and I made my way to it … only to find that the other person sitting in that seat group was a mentally ill woman, unfortunately, and she was on a rant. I had a splitting headache and just wanted her to STFU. Finally I snapped and told her, “lady, please shut up!” Of course, that only made her worse. Then the bus driver threatened to put us both off the bus. Yes, I know I shouldn’t have said anything. She did quiet down considerably, though, at least until I departed the bus. Let me go see if I can find -my- meds … I definitely need them tonight. GAH. :frowning:

Instead of meeting Dopers, I’ll be [del]stuck in the bleachers at the junior high, forced to listen to orchestral students which is against the Geneva Convention[/del] attending #2 son’s concert tonight.

Guess which one I’d rather be at? The concert, sillies–I’m a good mom.

Cleaned all day with Johnny Cash cranked on the good stereo. It was a pleasant day. More cleaning tomorrow.

I can’t look at the puppies–I may die from cuteness overload.

AWWWWWWWW… little teeny tiny [del]sausages[/del] puppies!

I’m waitin’ on ol’ y’all know who to show up. He’s still workin’ poor thing. I grilled some chicken boobs and we’ll have them sliced up on top of a big sallit. A simple yet nummy supper. Then the welcome home shall commence.

gotti welcome to summer.

spaz you be careful. We don’t want to have to write Dear Abby about our friend who is careless with hot oil. :stuck_out_tongue:

Glad you’re feelin’ better MOOOOOOM!

I talked to MBG today! (Long story involving his knee and an inability to attend the mini-Dopefest in Chicago; OK, so I got the knee part from Haze.)

Pupppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!!! Kewt widdle bebby doggies!!!

Glad to hear you’re better, FCM. Everyone else is prohibited from becoming ill. Please ignore all symptoms of teh Sick.

Yay on the new clients, Pie!

I want to know the answer to LiLi’s question, Muppet. Where are you???

Sorry for the kitteh plague, Bobbio.

Hope today isn’t as long, taxi.

Oh, my, tarra, that sounds like a very non-fun bus experience.

I need to go find more food.

EEP!
I’m covered in orange leeches!

Well, it *looked * like orange leeches. I’m leaning back a bit in the chair, trying to open a bag of dried apricots. The plastic suddenly lets go, and I’m suddenly covered in orange blobs that stick to me because, well, because they’re a bit sticky. And now, a bit linty.

My life has been one small disaster after another…

Now if I could just manage to convince DH that there’s no such thing as “Microsoft Office XP” - he called me a few minutes ago, looking for info about books on Office, and when I asked if he wanted to know about Office 2003 or Office 2007, he said “Office XP” :smack:

I didn’t do a whole lot of anything today. We were a a staff of 2 pharmacists and 5 techs today, which is a little lean for us, but then a nearby store called and needed people, and we sent one (they helped us with staffing a couple of weeks ago), so we were kinda shorthanded all day. Wasn’t too much fun, but I got to leave right when we hit The Crazies (after-work rush).

It’s starting to rain here, and I was having fun sitting on the porch eating my roast beast sammich.

And for those of you who haven’t played, our very own Dolores Reborn is having a fun game over in the Game Room right now. Yay!

Missed the edit window by a looooong shot, but first on page 4!

Also, advice plzkthx:

So everyone here might or might not know that I broke up with my bf of 2.25-ish years a couple of months ago. The division of goods went alright, the only complicated thing was the possession of the Wii, which we had split the cost of (him 150, me 100). The original plan was for me to just pay him his share of it and walk away with it. So I walked away with it, then a week or two later realized I was so behind on paying bills that I wouldn’t be able to give him the money, and asked him if he’d prefer to buy out my share. We were both fairly ambivalent on the whole issue. I still have it and he still lives 20 miles away and doesn’t seem too worried about it.

Now I still have stuff in his storage unit, a tv, a couple of minifridges and some other things of lesser value. I don’t want to be a total jerkface and cut the lock and get it out, but he’s basically unwilling to talk to me. That, and I left a couple of jackets and some old Magic cards at the house which are now at his house, that I’d probably like back. (I haven’t missed them, but the worth of those items exceed the worth of the items in the storage unit.)

How should I handle this? I hate talking to him, and I know the non-jerky answer is to drive up to where he lives in my janky-ass car, demand money from him and give him the Wii, or drive up there in my janky-ass car, give him money and demand the key to his storage unit and my stuff back that I left in the old apartment, but neither of those options sound too appealing, as it would still involve awkward conversations with a person who seems to despise talking to me.

Rosie, ya happy now?

Kittehs #1, #2, and #3.

No working names yet, but I am partial to Shitheads 1 thru 5…

Caught up on all pictures.
That’s a purty dress, Moooom. That shade of purple suits you.
Your puppies are cute and squee-able, kai. I’d never seen a black Pom before.
Thanks, VBob. I wasn’t dead enough from puppies that you had to bring in fuffy kittens?

All’s well. Skillet was moved to a cool burner and is now not smoking. Now the house smells like the house I grew up in. What does this say about the quality of cookery in my family? :dubious:

Speaking of…linky. That chicken stock is a shout-out to your tasty easy chicken-n-dumplings. The cat and I both Approve.

chaotic, I’ll take the Wii. I promise I won’t despise talking to you.

BBBobbio’s Gardening tip of the day:

If you have a lot of plants to put in the ground that are in #1 sized pots, a post hole digger makes quick work of it all.

LiLi… Well fuck me sideways. Check your PMs.

(for those who are curious, yes, that’s my name and yes, I do know LiLi… or rather, knew her many many yrs ago)

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeird.

PS. donkeybear, chalk it up to the price of a breakup - keep the Wii, and if he decides to get snippy about it, remind him that he’s hanging onto a bunch of your stuff that’s worth way more than his share of a video game system.

My last ex ended up with a bunch of my stuff after our breakup, and I suspect he kept it all out of spite instead of returning it to me as agreed. I still miss my snowboarding jacket sometimes.

can’t. type. too. cute. must. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Re: LiLi and Muppet So how weird is that? What were that chances? I think one of you needs to post over here.

Those kittens are incredibly cute. How can you not fall instantly in lurve, Bobbio?

Sleepy.

Off to beddie bye.

Obligatory explanation, more or less…

KITTIESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

That orange one resembles Cuervo.

Wow, MBG, hope the knee thing turns out alright.

I received good news today. The doctor e-mailed me the results of my thyroid biopsy. Two of the nodules returned as benign. They weren’t able to obtain enough cell samples from the other two nodules they tested, but one of those was rather cystic and filled with fluid. At any rate, the endocrinologist recommends going in for another ultrasound six months from now, with a follow up ultrasound 18 months from now. If there are changes in the size of nodules, he will, of course, reassess what course of action to take.

So, thankfully, no surgery for me.

I’m going to e-mail my PCM and tell him these water pills aren’t working for shit. Now that I know all is fine with the thyroid, I feel like I can ask him to give me something stronger/better/whatever. Just something that works, dammit.

In other exciting news, my boss came in and told me and one of my co-workers that the big boss has approved going to four ten hour days per week. His only caveat is that we schedule any appointments for those off days.

I think I’m going to stick to my current schedule for now. Let’s face it, it’s rare to get a doctor or dentist appointment on a Friday, which is now my RDO. I’d like to keep Fridays as RDOs. Also, one of the other cons of going to 10 hour days is taking 10 hours of leave when I’m not off and have to call in sick or just want to take annual leave.

I may change my mind, but frankly what I have right works for me. Additionally, with my daughter graduating and getting ready for college, I want to be able to take a day or so here and there and not receive any crap from the big boss.

The puppies and kittens are cute. I’m more of a dog person, although cats can be cute and adorable.

I hope the rest of you that have managed to catch some kind of Teh Sick are improving at a speedy rate.

Congrats, Pie, on the new business clients.

Another three hour workout tonight. My shirt was soaked with sweat by the time I finished. Yeah, I’m sure that was attractive.

My husband is going to go out on the neighbor’s boat on Thursday for some fun in the water. Since he’ll be doing that, I’ll go to the YMCA on my own. I’m still feeling guilty about the workout day I missed last week.

Besides, I want to feel less guilty about going out to dinner on Saturday to celebrate my birthday. We still plan to work out on Saturday, but I want to be sure I keep my metabolism up.

I’m seeing less in the way of results from my workouts and diet now. Part of that, I’m sure, is due to the edema, but I think I need to add another day to the workout schedule. I’ve added additional reps and cardio on the days I do workout, but it’s not producing any results. At the very least, I may just run on my off days. Maybe that’ll help speed things up.

I was doing so well, but the weight loss has come to a screeching halt and I’m becoming highly frustrated. Again, part of that is the edema, but still I’d like to see clothes grow larger on me.

Wow, it’s late. I’m going to hit the sack.
