Why doesn’t Cruz simply go away already? What a child.
Because he has the delusion that he’ll be the white knight who rides in, saves the party, and gets handed the Presidency…if not now, then in 2020.
Cruz: “With a heavy heart, but with boundless optimism that I can still destroy this country, we are suspending the campaign so I can consult with Cthulhu in person.”
Hopefully TRUMP deports the Canadian Cuban Confederate Communist Cruz back to Calgary once he assumes office.

I still say this is the Republican’s election to lose … boy oh boy … they sure are doing a great job of it.
He has nothing to lose by doing this and as noted potentially gains positioning himself and his vision of what the party should be in the in the future (especially assuming a Trump loss), as opposed to leaving that post-Trump space for Ryan to possess uncontested.
If Trump wins then he is positioning to run against him in 2020.
This was not just a regular GOP primary season. As has been said many times this cycle potentially redefines what the GOP brand primarily consists of. Trump has won the nomination but the fight for the GOP brand name continues and will extend past the November election. The party may split or one or another segment may slink along tail between its legs as part of the pack; that is not written yet and is what motivates the posturing.

This is not really an Elections discussion/debate. Considering IMHO and The BBQ Pit, I think it will do better in the Pit.
Okay, it is not an elections discussion per se… yet, but it would have become one had you waited a bit, until we had an opportunity to get over the terror-causing flop sweat seeping through our skin upon the realization that Cruz is an extant threat to us all once more, before shunting us off to the hinterlands.
