Last night my church (Westminster Good Samaritan Seventh Day Adventist) and the Jewish school were victims of vandals. The police are considering this a hate crime.
They believe this was done by a person who is anti-religion. Since the Jewish School was also targeted I don’t think this is a racially motivated crime (my church is considered a black congregation but also has a large Spanish, Vietnamese and Japanese membership).
So whoever did this. We will be praying for you. We believe in the power of prayer. We are not a vindictive people so our prayers will be for God’s will to be done. God says vengeance is His, so we will allow Him to treat you as He sees fit.
(mods I really don’t know where to put this, so if it needs to be moved go ahead)
Thanks MsRobyn. I figure this is the kind of thing you never expect to happen in your neighborhood. But it did. It is just sad how much security you have to have for a church or synagogue.
Well, Deb, I am a devout atheist who DOESN’T believe in the power of prayer or that “God’s will be done,” so all I can do is hope those idiots are run over very slowly by a steamroller.
Really, most of us atheists do NOT do such things; those creeps only make the rest of us look bad.
Eve, I fully support your right to believe in what you wish to. Actually Adventists are very active in the fight for religious liberty, which includes the separation of church and state. This puts us against legislated religious laws including prayer in public school and “blue laws”.
Actually whoever did it did not make you or other atheists look bad, they only made themselves look bad. I do appreciate your concern, thanks.
