Howdy all. I had to irk today on a Sat which is just not right. My teen girl who normally does Sat. Is out due to the impending death of her great grand dad.
So, now my weekend is all messed up.

Grilled poke chops, field peas with snaps, cheesey broccoli rice, and rolls for dindin. Plus, I have a pot roast in the slow cooker for tomorrow. Also, I have ahrned a buncha shirts. Go Me!

We had a late lunch/early supper of pulled poke sammiches cooked in Sonny’s sweet BBQ sauce. Chips on the side. Not particularly healthy, but definitely tasty. Pie later.
I’m in the mood for ice cream - wish I’d bought some the other day…

Do you cook the pork with the sauce for a bit, or use it as a condiment?

I dumped the sauce into the crock, put the pork on top, added chopped onions, and let it go for 6 or 7 hours. Somewhere along the line, I pulled the pork apart and dumped in a little more sauce. Easy-peasy!

My dog taught us a new trick.
One night he started scratching and he gave a little yip and both Sah-son and I came running to check on him.
He then started scratching and yipping quite a bit and I was thinking the benadryl wasn’t enough and we needed to go to the vet.
Nope, he noticed that if he scratches a bit and yips he will get attention. He will scratch and yip and then stare at Sah-sons bedroom door. Or scratch and yip and head for the backdoor.
I didn’t get much done today.
Not as much as I wanted to get done anyway.
It seems like the more I do the more I see that needs to be done.
I tried to sign up on the mortgage site and it says my mortgage is denied or suspended. I haven’t even made the first payment yet. I’m hoping it’s because they haven’t finished entering it yet, not because there is a problem. My first payment is due December 1 and if I can’t pay it online then I want to mail it Moonday. I don’t trust snail mail, I want to leave plenty of time.
I found two bags of OAOASO’s son’s stuff that wasn’t taken. One has food in it that needed to be tossed.
I need to start xmas shopping. For all my bitching about xmas music and decorations before Thanksgiving, I like to have all my shopping done by Thanksgiving.
That comes from my pet sitting days when the holiday irk was overwhelming and I needed to have everything done early.
Next week I have to go back to the armpit for Thanksgiving. I’m going on Firday, my niece is cooking at my mothers house and the HFH will be there on Thanksgiving, so I said I’ll pass. My mother says she will make sure there are lots of leftovers and we can come on Firday.
Then I have to go back the next week for Dr appt, and then the next week for another Dr appt. Joy and happiness there. Then if still needed, I will have my surgery scheduled, even more joy and happiness. I should get it done this year though since I already met my deductible. I’d rather not have any surgery at all.

It’s above freezing today, so yay! But Higgs was being a noisy butt at 5AM again, so boo!
Today’s plans include going to WalMart early to avoid as much stoopit as possible. We’re out of cat food and we need a couple other items that are considerably cheaper in the store from hell, so it’s worth the trip. I should probably check the status of dog kibbles before we go.
Once we get back, **FCD **will get the mulcher/vac out and I’ll tend to the leaves. It’s not supposed to rain till this evening and we’re promised temps in the 50s today - with luck I’ll get it all done in a couple of hours.
I’ve also got to sew my afghan strips together - I finished the last one last night. Then I’ll use the remaining yarn to make a shawl and I’ll have 3 things to take to Mom’s on Thursday. Next project is my niece’s wedding present afghan. Followed by my future nephew-in-law’s wedding present afghan. No rush - I have till June to finish them.
