Click. Duh. Why would I wait? Do I get bonus content not available to those who can’t wait the three extra seconds? Why not just assume I don’t want to wait? Of course I don’t want to wait. I want to get to the webpage I just hyperlink clicked. Obviously if waiting is an option, it must have some significance. Anyone know?
If you click, you’ll miss the TRULY EXCITING SPLASH SCREEN ANIMATION!!! that someone spent oodles of hours making just for your entertainment. Of course, some people get annoyed, especially if they are on dialup. There’s nothing like waiting 3 minutes for a 30 second useless animation to load.
I’ve also seen that message when web pages automatically forward you to another page. Sometimes it will have some mumbo jumbo about updating your links to point to the new page. If your browser doesn’t automatically forward you to the correct page, the only way you will ever get there is to click the link.
Ah. Okies. Thank You.
Also if it fowarded without a few seconds waiting period, it would be alot harder to back out of. Everytime you hit back, you’d be fowarded right to where you started. I’m sure everyone has had times where they’ve had to click the back button pretty fast to get back to where they started becuase of this.
I remember seeing one title page that said something along the lines of ‘we have programmed this page to preload nearly every graphic used on our website, in the background. If you want to go and get a sandwich now or something like that, you’ll find that you can browse through the site more quickly when you get back. If not click this link to get started right away.’
It seems like an odd idea - wait now to avoid waiting later. But I think it fits your criterion, kinduv.
