I really wanted to pick das Ohio State, but the wheels have fallen off of Michigan in the last month or so, so I backed away from it. I took Clemson because I think they are going to Clemson it up this weekend, and I chose Alabama 'cause War Eagle.
Auburn loses to Bama, and USC-lite loses to Clemson.
On a side note Mizzou beats aTm, and then squeaks by Bama in a thriller, before winning against FSU in Pasadena.
I’m holding my vote for now. I need to decide how I feel about Miz/A&M.
Snowboarder Bo, I wish. Unfortunately, I think FSU will be starting Maguire in the Nat’l Championship game - which will be 'Bama and we’ll lose that matchup.
Very much. But nobody has believed all year (not that they had a reason), so I’d rather remain the darkhorse at thos point.
Mizzou has a couple things going for it against aTm:
The offense can score, and is most likely the most balanced that they will face all year. The average height of the WRs is something like 6’5", and they have a real nice run game. The Aggies defense can be called pourous at best, so if anyone can keep up with JF, hopefully its the Tigers.
The D-Line is superb.
Mizzou has two probable 1st round picks coming off the edges, and rotates 6-8 deep to keep everyone fresh. LSU gave a blueprint on how to keep Manziel contained, and allowing him to try and beat you with arm from the pocket.
It will be a close game, and if I didn’t have my homer glasses on it wouldbe a real toss-up.
You must not have read my first post in the thread. The game is a toss-up against A&M. I think A&M is the better offense, but LSU just handed you a blueprint on how to beat Manziel and you have the talent (I think) to execute it. Hence the hesitation to call the game.
But then beating 'Bama? No way. You ain’t got it for the Tide. They’re just as big/fast, better coached, and not reliant on one key guy for their offense. Ain’t no blueprint for beating those guys (so far anyway - Auburn could pull the upset but they’ve got the emotional up of a rivalry working for them).
Hell, even assuming the Winston thing works itself out, FSU will need all they’ve got to beat Alabama and we are, like it or not (and it’s a surprise to me - and I think Jimbo Fisher - this is the way we were supposed to play next year), truly one of the two best teams in the country. Mizzou looks a lot like Clemson to me and you see what we did to them.
If you’re serious (please confirm) I can “fix” your votes in the array. I have to anyway because of the funky “closing date” I selected. So the poll’s results will be a “guideline” at best.
Just let me know you weren’t kidding and it shall be done, a la Yul Brynner!
