I went with Missouri and Texas Tech. Just playing a hunch. And that usually doesn’t work out well for me.

I thought about Missouri a bit, but I couldn’t pull the trigger. The Tigers are playing with a great deal of confidence and they’re at home. More importantly, on the Gamecocks side, Connor Shaw is injured and probably won’t play. A Steve Spurrier team without their starting quarterback is just not the same team. I can kinda see the pick, though.

However, I’m floored that a few people think Tennessee is going to roll into Bama’s home field and knock off the Tide. That’s just nuts.

What’ll be neat is if Miami, FSU and Stanford get beat.

Looks like nobody is going to hop out with the NONE option this time, though.

I don’t care about Stanford, but FSU won’t lose and I need Miami to stay unbeaten until FSU clobbers them on 2 November.

The method you refer to is the ongoing additional work by armedmonkey where nothing is deducted for wrong guesses. Is that the one you mean?

What I’ve been doing is showing correct/total as a measure so that a 2/2 beats a 2/3. For instance, last week’s summary was shown in this post as

Yep, and I did actually think about that flaw in the scoring, but just figured it would be more fun if the system encouraged people to go out on a limb. I’m also trusting people to play honest rather than try to “game” the system. Besides, if I deducted a point for each incorrect pick, I think too many of us would be in negative numbers

Anyway, since it was brought up, here’s how we are going in to week 9:

End of week 8 totals. Cumulative scoring. No penalties for incorrect picks, 1pt awarded for each correct pick.

Oh you bet I’ll be watching the Old Ball Coach against the upstart Tigers. Should be the best game of the day - although I think Vandy/A&M is a dark horse.
