Week 4 Fantasy Football Start/Sit Thread

  1. Thomas Jones vs. Leon Washington – Return yards count at 30/point. So far, Jones only has about 3.5 more fantasy points than Washington in this league. The Jets are playing New Orleans, so even though Jones is the starter, I’m leaning towards Washington: lots of passing, and lots of kickoffs to return.

  2. The guy you didn’t pick in #1 vs. Holt, Ginn, and Garcon.

QB: Sanchez @NO or Cutler v. Detroit. The Jets will need to be passing a lot to keep up, but Detroit is giving everything up.

RB: McFadden @Hou, Sproles @Pit or Cadillac @Was. Just need one here, and receptions are 1/2 point.

QB pickup: Cassel or Flacco for the season as my Brady back-up?

Flacco, unless you have both and can trade him to someone impressed by his stats.

I’d go Cutler. Detroit gave Campbell 340 yards last week.

I like McFadden. Houston doesn’t have great run D, and Sproles is very boom or bust. I don’t really know a whole lot about Cadillac, so I can’t really say.

Flacco.
My problems:

pick 2
Cedric Benson vs Cle, Sproles vs. Pit, Lt vs. Pit, Slaton vs Oak, Cadiilac @Was. Benson is a sure start for me this week. I’m leaning Slaton, but I wouldn’t wouldn’t need much convincing that Cadillac is a better start.

I don’t know who to pick for #1, but I’d start that person over Ginn, who has shown little over the season, and will be receiving passes from Chad Henne.

Unless I misunderstood the question. Is there 1 spot that you can put any of those 4 players in, or is there 3 slots for those 4 players? My answer was for the 3 slots, 4 players situation. If it is 1 slot, I like Garcon or #1.

Sorry, I was a little unclear – it’s one RB slot and one RB/WR flex spot.

Ended up dropping Cadillac for Coffee, starting Benson and Coffee.

Wait, what? You have a league where Flacco is available as a free agent?

Flacco is the most gigantic landslide of all time. He’s been better than Brady so far, and Cassel has nothing to work with.

Good call.
Okay, here’s mine.

Half PPR league with 25 return yards/point. WR2: Devery Henderson or Josh Cribbs? Cribbs hasn’t produced anything as a receiver this year even though he’s lined up as the #2, but his return yards will at least get me a few points and prevent a 0. Anderson being the QB may kickstart the offense and Cribbs may see more action at receiver.

Henderson is the speed guy for NO - do teams facing the jets tend to throw to their #3 and #4 receivers more because the #1 and #2 are locked down so hard? Are the Jets good against the deep ball?

Dallas homers–how’s Marion Barber looking for playing time this week?

My quandary: need to drop Antonio Bryant and pick up a healthy receiver to be my #3 this week. I have no bench spots to stash Bryant in because they’re already being used for McNabb, Felix Jones, DeAngelo Williams, Anquan Boldin and Tony Gonzalez (damn you Week 4 byes!)

I picked up Kenny Britt, but Eddie Royal is available in my league. Here are the top 25 free agents by FP to date (I removed injured guys):

I’d already been using Mike Sims-Walker as my #3 (Boldin and Jerricho Cotchery are my #1 and 2) thanks to Bryant’s injuries/lack of production. Should I pick up Royal (better season-long prospect than Britt, but has yet to show up), stick with Britt, or sign one of the other guys above? No PPR, 10 yards/point, plus 6 points for a score.

Jones, unless you get points for receptions. No need to get too cute; Washington could touch the ball 20 times, but Jones will.

Cutler. Sanchez has to come back down to earth sooner or later, and I’m thinking the game where his defense can’t shut down the opposing offense is probably the most likely time.

McFadden all the way. If he doesn’t produce this week, he never will, and you drafted him as your #2 back (presumably) for a reason.

Bensonbensonbensonbensonbensonbenson. And Slaton. Same reasoning as above- great matchup, and you drafted him to be a stud.

Do you expect to win or lose? If you need to gamble, go Henderson. If you need steady production, Cribbs.
