Week 6 fantasy sit or start

I’m starting this thread as a place for general week 5 fantasy football questions.

My toughest call this week is Pierre Thomas vs NYG or Knowshon Moreno @SD. Thomas is a stud, but big RB days against NYG are rare whereas SD has given up some huge games. Buckhalter is practicing again after missing last week with a gimpy ankle, but so was Mike Bell.

I also need to pick 3 out of Welker vs TEN, Roddy White vs CHI, Driver vs DET, Breaston @SEA, Massaquoi @PIT, Mason @MIN, or Maclin @Oak. Holy crap I have a lot of WRs in that league.

White seems unbenchable after last week’s performance. Welker’s knee is still an issue but he caught a lot last week and TEN’s pass D sucks (but I think that may make Moss a bigger target than Welker). I’m leaning towards Welker/White/Driver.

The other issue in another league

I have a 2 WR and a WR/RB slot and these players to choose
Braylon Edwards vs Buf
Eddie Royal @SD
McCoy @Oak
Caldwell vs Hou (low target guy, but they look to him in the red zone, and return yardage counts 25/1)
Massaquoi @PIT
Johnny Knox @ATL
Chris Henry vs HOU
Mike Bell vs NYG

I’ll try to help everyone who posts. Give me your feedback on my issues if you have any ideas. Thanks.

White, Driver, and Maclin, for sure.

You think Maclin is for real? I think it may depend too on who Oakland considers the #1. If they put Asomowhatshisface on Jackson, they may pass to Maclin’s side of the field - but after last week’s breakout I’m not sure they’ll do that.

Normally I’d say people run on Oakland and I’m hesistant to start receivers against them, but last week TB should’ve been easy to run on too and they went pass happy.

You said in the other thread that this thread was for asking advice of the greatest football mind of our generation, but you forgot to actually invite me. Silly.

Moreno.

White, Welker, Maclin (in that order).

Edwards, Royal, McCoy.

ETA: Oakland has been rotating Asomugha between the #1 and #2 wideouts on opposing teams, presumably to prevent any one guy from producing headline grabbing stats or something, so both D-Jack and Maclin will get their chances. Of course, if Curtis is healthy you’ll want to bench Maclin.

McCoy will get 10-15 touches because the Iggles will be up by 20 at half.

McNabb is spreading the ball around. I’d take a stab with Maclin. The Raiders only have one Asomowhathisface on their team.

Don’t overthink it.

I need 2 RBs, 2 WRs and one additional RB/WR:

Cedric Benson (vs HOU)
Matt Forte (@ATL)
Steven Jackson (@JAX)
Ray Rice (@MIN)
Santana Moss (vs KC)
Greg Jennings (vs DET)
Roddy White (vs CHI)

Benson, Forte, Jackson, White, Moss.

Really? Moss over Jennings? I know he hasn’t shown the consistency you’d like from a WR1 but getting benched against the Lions? How the mighty have fallen.

I dunno. The Lions pass defense is pretty bad. I’d consider Jennings.

RB Benson
RB Forte
WR Jennings
WR White
W/R Rice

Jennings will rebound as detroit doesn’t have a huge pass rush and last I heard they expect Clifton to be back, giving the passing game time to develop longer routes. Benson is an obvious start. Minnesota is never a great matchup for RBs, but Rice has the speed to work outside and he seems to be the dominant ball carrier there now.

My problem with Jennings this week is that I’m worried the Pack might be up by 21 at half and quit throwing. No chance of the 'Skins doing that, of course.

That’s a distinct possibility. Hopefully, if that’s the case, Jennings will have his 100 yds and TD before retiring for the day.

All right guys, help me out. 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 RB/WR. Standard scoring with 0.5 PPR.

RBs: Forte, Lynch, R. Bush, Fast Willie, L. Washington, B. Wells, and L. McCoy
WRs: Jennings, Welker, Breaston

I’m pretty set in Forte, Lynch, Jennings, and Welker but am ambivalent about my flex between Bush, Parker, Washington, Wells, McCoy, and Breaston. Any thoughts?

Forte, Fast Willie (if healthy), McCoy, Jennings, Welker.

Heath Miller hosting the Browns or Kellen Winslow hosting the Panthers?

I think Winslow finally got on track last week with monster numbers and will be good going forward. I also think Carolina sucks, though admittedly not as badly as the Browns. Yahoo projects Miller to score twice what Winslow will, so I started Miller for now just to be safe.

I really want to start Winslow to try and capture lightning in a bottle. What do you guys think? I’ll check in around noon to read feedback, so if you have a question about my situation post your recommendation for both possibilities since there won’t be time for a back and forth.

EDIT: I’m first in the league by virtue of tiebreaker, facing #2 in the league. With Miller starting we’re both projected to get almost exactly the same point total.

Pick up that St. Louis Tight End instead*

*I may be biased on this one.

The Panthers don’t actually suck as bad as it seems, but they are historically vulnerable to good TEs. However, they have a new DC this year, and a strong group of LBs. On the other hand, Tampa’s O has been anemic and if Winslow gets on track, I’d expect them to use him a lot. I’d go Winslow, but it’s not a lock.

Yeah, exactly. I decided to go with Winslow even though I’m leading the league, when you’d think conservative choices would be called for. But that would be the equivalent to going to a prevent defense, IMO, so instead I choose to keep blitzing with Winslow.

Should’ve gone with SenorBeef, I ended up playing Santana Moss in my flex over Ray Rice… blargh.

Wow were there some big FF performances today. I’m going to try to trade Flacco this week. He’s doing me no good on my bench, except as insurance in case Warner gets hurt. His value should be high and I need a stud RB. I’ll try and package him with one of my 2nd-tier backs for a better option.

Well, I’m losing my game by 14 points but have my QB left to play. I’ve got Phillip Rivers and Kyle Orton. I’ll play Rivers, but if Orton outscores him (and Rivers doesn’t get 15+) I’ll be mad.
