Okay, I realize this is going up earlier than usual, but…
Frabjuous spoilers for 52 #37. Supernova revealed!
It’s Booster!
And more good news!
Buddy’s not quite dead yet! He thinks he’ll go for a walk!

Regarding your second spoiler
As one of Lady Styx’s zombies, or does he seem to b self-aware?
Also, do we see the mad scientists ar all? That’s one plot that they haven’t kept up on for quite a while.
And the intrest the Guardians have in Earth’s AI population, & the number 52…
I have not read it yet, I reiterate spoilers provided to me elsewhere.
The short summary did not touch on Oolong island, though it did mention that Egg Fu was in the ‘Next on 52’ preview panels, so - perhaps next week?
As to the spoiler…
Reports would indicate he is not a zombie, but it’s possible he may be ghostly. So hard to tell with these sorts of things. Self-aware, though.
I’m lazy. Has anyone deciphered the 52 “clue” that running on the Dini page in this weeks books?
Decoded:
‘The secret of 52 is that the multiverse still exists.’
This…isn’t exactly a surprise to people who’ve been reading JLofA, Flash, or JSofA, Dan.
Also…it’s DiDio, not Dini.
Chaim - He’s alive and well, and really rather bothered by the fact that Kori and Adam buggered off without him after his funeral. The two aliens from the first stage of his cosmic awakening in Animal Man show up to talk to him when he wakes - it’s not clear whether they had anything to do with it or not, as yet.
As to Supernova - called it. Who it was, and how it would happen, although I didn’t actually guess Rip would be involved. Should have, though.
Since we’re talking 52… who’re the two ladies in the middle “Next in 52” tableau? I’ve got a nagging feeling I should recognize them, but don’t.
I’m gonna have to go back and re-read some of the earlier 52 issues to see if I can figure out whether Booster’s commercialism was him acting to fool Skeets, or (as I fear) it was before Rip showed up and therefore just Booster-as-usual.
Exiles - I’ve not finished the issue, yet, but…Sabertooth’s dialogue is just so…off, so far. Just horribly, horribly off. ‘We’re pushin’ the limits of imagination itself, Pup.’ The hell?
deep breath
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Now if the reveal in Manhunter,
Ted,
is true, then I might be in love with DC again. Maybe.
I’ve finally read week 37 of 52, and I’m ecstatic. This series is good and unpredictable.
Lightray:
I suspect that the commercialism was business as usual, but the bad stuff, like hiring Manthrax as a fake menace, was to fool Skeets
I’ve finished Exiles…oh, good LORD, why do they still give Claremont work? Forget Sabertooth, he’s got Heather all wrong, too. And since when do they refer to the top-caste Timebreakers as lizards? Worst bit of dialogue: ‘I don’t think luck had anything to do with it!’ It was LONGSHOT…of course luck had to do with it! That’s his power! Auuuugh…
Good Lord! checks Exiles cover I didn’t realize that Claremont had started his run! Ack! I touched it! I’ve contaminated myself – where’s the Lysol? I guess that explains why Psylocke showed up. Well, that’s it for Exiles, for me. Leaving me with… Amazing X-Men and Young Avengers (if it’s ever out again) from Marvel. Meh.
Green Lantern is also getting on my nerves. Hal’s so damn stupid now. Hey, Hal! if you’re being mysteriously chased by an endless succession of super-bounty hunters, and the entire JSA and Alan show up and offer to help – take them up on the offer! Moron.
Detective Chimp and the Helmet of Fate was a hoot, as expected, and I really like McManus, so doubleplusgood.
52 is my big winner this week, of course.
Exiles - sigh. I want Proteus out of Morph. I don’t want Psylocke or Claremont’s Crosstime Crap. (In case you missed it, the mysterious woman was Roma, guardian of the multiverse. She was introduced in Excalibur. Inexplicably, she showed up in Claremont’s FF run.)
Chris Claremont has been trying to tell the same f***ing story for about 20 years now. That’s right, folks - if Marvel Editorial hadn’t kicked his butt, the Cross-Time Caper would STILL be going strong.
She-Hulk amuses as usual. Fantastic Four offers a still-better peek at Reed’s motivation for Civil War. Entertaining, plausible - the only reason I don’t like completely it is because it feels like it was inserted after-the-fact.
Omega Men. Huh.
Detective Chimp was awesome. Why can’t Shadowpact (also out this week) be this good?
Birds of Prey continues to deliver - strong outing this time. Interesting twist. Green Lantern was also good.
I’m enjoying the Wisdom mini, but… I dunno. Feels like a low-rent Authority.
JLA Classified actually seems to have an interesting arc. I’m shocked.
Outsiders - Dominator porn is the most disturbing idea ever. (Actually 362 was kinda hot, but still…) I like this story well enough, other than that.
Question on Birds of Prey; Is Manhunter actually supposed to be out of there, or is this part of the scheme? That Gypsy was there tends to go with the latter, but considering there seemingly hasn’t been any communication between Oracle and her leans to the latter.
Either way, Misfit rules.
Not to be overly snarky, but I guess we’ll find out next issue.
Newsarama’s after-report on this week’s 52 does a good job of outlining how Ralph might have been able to deduce Supernova’s identity. Spoilers are there, of course.
I also called Supernova’s identity a while ago, though I guess Ralph Dibny is a better detective than I in figuring out exactly what technology was being used. What’s so great about it is that it truly explains how the somber “my best friend Blue Beetle died” Booster became such a turd, which seemed very out of character
So it’s true that Fate’s helmet is just going to end up in the Nelson family again?
I HATE all these legacy heroes. One or two is fine, but there’s too many. Give someone new a chance at the helmet and a shot at the big time. Give it to Tempest so’s he can go smack down the Spectre (ok, I know he couldn’t, but the destruction of Atlantis just irked me).
The names match, but I don’t know if he’s actually related, or if it’s just a weird cosmic coincidence (like how Jim Corrigan killed the man who became the current Spectre). From what I hear, it sounds like if there’s a blood link, that’s as far as it goes, and the new Dr. Fate isn’t directly carrying on in his predeccessor’s “Lord of Order” footsteps.
