a) Question (From several e-mails) Re: Well the hell are you, where are the polls?
Answer: Sorry. As I’ve alluded to in the past, I compile & post the 6@6 from work. Unfortunately, January is my “swamped month” and both my protestant work ethic & lack of free time was the cause.
b) Comment / Question (From Thermalribbon): I don’t know what that says about a band when you’re favorite song (by Concrete Blond) “Everybody Knows” is a (Leonard Cohen) cover song.
My Opinion: Nothing negative. As evidenced this week’s top vote getter in the Cowboy Junkies poll. I personally wouldn’t even want to count how many cover versions I’ve picked in the past 35 weeks, some covers are even better than the original.
c) Tounge in Cheek Request (From Hugh Jass) Re: Formal application for a Townes Van Zandt 6@6 Poll…(sometime) in 2006.
Answer: Sure…but remind me. I guess it’ll be in the V’s, sometime after Vangelis/Aphrodite’s Child. Anything to keep the Buffalo Sproingfield fans happy.

Because of the fact I didn’t vote in the Cocteau Twins poll & for the reasons mentioned above, I decided to “expropriate” hazel-rah’s 3 additional selections (Memory Gongs, Aikea Guinea, Musette and Drums), Cantara’s “in case #2 doesn’t count choice” (Sugar Hiccup) & Skijumper’s “nod to her favourite song of all time {though oddly listed 7th}” (Song to the Siren)…and make them my picks for the week.
