Weight Watchers Support Group

Washte sorry to hear your WI didn’t go as nicely as you planned. Look at it this way, today is a new day. The great thing about this program is you don’t have to wait until “Monday” to start trying again!

** LunaSea** congrats on your week!

I’m having some difficulties this week. I’m still staying under my points but I’m having feelings of “doubt” that I’ll do well this week coming. I mean, I’m not eating all of my points but the last two nights for dinner I had a piece of pizza and then night before a pork roll and cheese sandwich. Now I can’t possibly go down in weight again this week with eating those two things, can I?!?!

skittles, you can so. I eat whatever I want, just as long as I stay within the points. I rarely eat more than 26 although I’m allowed more. I had cheesesteak this week, yay! And pizza!

skittles of course you can. If you feel ‘guilty’ for eating things like that, just go take a walk, and tell yourself you’ve worked it off.
Ginger I’m sorry for snapping at you earlier in the thread. I’m just really frustrated by the whole thing, and took it out on you. My appologies.

LunaSea - I resisted the notion for a long time that any of my food issues could have anything to do with my mother. So cliché. I couldn’t be suckered into that. Until I called my mother to report that my boyfriend of 5 years had dropped me like a hot rock with no warning. Her response? “Eat a hot fudge sundae. You’ll feel better.” In my family food=feeling better. Not broccoli, either. French fries with gravy, pretty much anything with melted cheese…ice cream, and chocolate.

I can eat 8,000 calories in a day without ever feeling full.

I don’t have an answer for changing that feeling. The way I am getting through it is by not keeping food where I can get at it, especially chocolates. My boss recently sent a 5 lb bag of Mini snickers with a note to put them out on the counter for customers. I sent them back to her because I knew that the only one who’d eat them is me. (I work alone so don’t think I was punishing my coworkers) I put out some hard candies instead which I have no trouble resisting.

I’ve been doing things like leaving my atm card at home and carrying just a little cash. I also keep a picture in my purse from last easter where my dress spread out over the couch in a rather unflattering way, and I’m laughing and would look pretty if it weren’t for six chins and rolls of fat around my neck. I want not to look like that anymore even more than I want a piece of cheesecake.

I guess this is my longwinded way of saying you are absolutely not the only one with food issues.

LunaSea, think nothing of it. I had a lot of food issues myself, but I’ve worked through them. I’ve been fat all of my life, and it’s time to do something about it NOW.

Thanks for the support guys! It really means a great deal.

Have you thought about crating your cheese Skittles? 20g cheddar goes a lot further grated than sliced.

For pizza, thin crust rather than deep pan makes a bit difference, as do the toppings. What if you made your own? Top it with lots of good stuff (low and no points). Tada, less guilt.

Also, if you aren’t using all your points, make sure you are carrying them over to use when you do slip or want an extra treat.

As for me, well, it is a new day and new week. I’ve changed eating styles and today managed only 7 pts of carb foods out of the 24 so far. Still have 4 points left. Not sure what I’m going to have, but no more carbs.

Thanks for the welcome, skittles!

Can someone help me with a points question? I’m planning on making this recipe for my family tonight. It says 3 points per serving; however, I’m not sure how much a serving would be.

DarkWriter a serving would be one of the 3oz. pieces of chicken. The recipe sounds delicious! Let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the cheese advice Washte! I’ll be certain to try that!

You’re welcome

That recipe looks yummy! May have to try it soon. Cheers!

I was seven points over last night but 10 points under today with dinner looking less and less likely after a long night of law school… YAY!

And I signed up to play Congressional Softball this summer so hopefully I can get a little more active this summer when school is out.

So I’m in the process of making cabbage rolls because I really had a hankering for them. It turns out that they’re a little less than one point per roll (22 points for the ground beef, 8 for the rice, nothing for anything else if you use crushed tomatoes). I have 31. I am going to eat a lot of them as I have approximately tweny gazillion points left for the day.
If you would like the recipe, it’s posted here.

Thanks for the recipes guys, they both sound yummy!

LunaSea - I don’t have your problem, so I can’t exactly say I know how you feel. But one of my co-workers has this printed and stick on her computer:
NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS THIN FEELS

I told this to my aunt (who is a successful dieter) and her response was, when the diet is going well, and it’s working, you’re losing weight, you learn welcome that hungry feeling because it’s your validation that it’s working.

Good luck to you.

I lost three pounds this week. It really does average out to 2 lbs a week. Wee!

My sister joined WW last week and has convinced me to do the same. I really do need serious support. My husband is too supportive, I can talk him into letting me cheat so that’s no good. I need people I can’t push around easily to encourage me to loose weight. My first WW meeting is tomorrow night. I’m pretty nervous but excited too. I really am tired of being heavy.

That’s great, Anahita!
MamaHen, that first weigh in was nervewracking for me. I hadn’t stepped on a scale in three years I was so afraid of what it would say. After it was over, though, I felt great. Just deciding to do something about my weight made me feel happier with myself. Best of luck to you.

It is so refreshing to see so many dopers joining this thread! Let’s see how much weight we can all loose!

Well done Anahita!

Welcome to MamaHen

Right, Anahita, you are on.
I have lost 1 stone and 1 pound in four weeks on WW and I have another three stone* to go, according to them.

When I see you in September for GalwayDope, you and I will be skinny minnies!!

I am now in the SDMB WW gang. Yippee for me!
