Go, us! We’ll be so gorgeous that we’ll need really big sticks to beat off the men who are chasing us! Ok, well, you already have that problem, but I do not.
Wow, curlychick, 15lbs in four weeks is absolutely excellent! They say 10lbs is one clothing size in women, so you’ve just gone down one and a half clothing sizes. Isn’t that amazing.
Yay for GalwayDope! Yay for new clothes! Yay for curlychick!!
(P.S. I’m trying to figure out from which part of your body you you plan on losing three stone. You looked fabulous when I saw you! I think they make us aim really low, so that we never get Gold Memberships with free meetings for life. Just a theory.)
I posted a few days ago that I botched my WW when I quit smoking but if anyone else is ready to quit, now is a good time. Even though I bingng on sugar to help the cravings, it was easier to get back to reality since I had already been tracking what I ate.
There is a great site www.quitnet.com.
Oh, and a great quote for anyone worried about the weight gain-
“the weight I can lose but death is forever”
Curly chick if you lose 3 stone there isn’t gonna be anything left of you! Please tell me your toes are little fat sausages or summat cos there’s no way you need to lose that much.
If I can kick-start my body into losing weight I hope to be at my 10% goal by the time Twisty and tir tinuvial come visit in June… fingers crossed!
Thanks, skittles. I did check the thread before I made dinner, but didn’t have time to reply. I actually cut up the chicken breasts into strips, and sauteed them. They cooked quicker that way.
Then I just measured out 3 ounces for myself once they were done (it was three strips). I had a 1/2 cup of rice and a 1/2 cup of Green Giant white corn. It was only six points total for my whole meal. And the chicken was really good!
I just had something gorgeous that our ‘LEADER’ told us about. Take a cooking apple and carve out the center so there is a hole in it (the core and seeds and all). The put it on a dish or bowl and into the microwave. She suggested 6 minutes but that was too long for my microwave; 4 minutes was better. The fructose from teh apple gets all sticky and sweet and bubbles out of the hole at the top. I had that with WW yogurt and it was a great lowpoint quick fix for a sweet tooth!
Yay. P.S. Those chewy things you get at the meetings (not sure if they have them in the States)…when they say that they could have a laxative effect, they weren’t joking. My tum tums is so sore from them!
Just checking in. Inspired by successes shared here I reactivated my online account yesterday. Even though I’d started out the day with a bagel and cream cheese, and had a few stray pieces of easter candy I was able to stay below the high end of my points range.
A few times I stuck my hand in the candy bowl at work and remebered the line that StGermain posted and pulled it back empty.
Its great to see new faces in the thread! Welcome everyone!!!
I bought those fruities at my last meeting and now I’m afraid to eat them. I read the package and it makes me giggle! I hope if I spread eating one package out throughout the day it won’t be so bad.
Right, it is the weekend now and I have been invited out to dinner tonight. Hmmmm. i am a bit concerned as I haven’t been to a restaurant since I started this WW lark. Wish me luck!
Oh and by the way, thank you for the moral support and flattering words, Anahita and Washte
Keep up the good work, over the weekend, all my fellow SDMBWW mates.
curly chick, the key to restaurant dining is drink loads of water. Drink a mouth full of water between each bite. Put your fork/knife/spoon down between each bite.
You can see how well this worked for me in Salamanca when I tried that chocolate tart thing.
Have a lovely weekend and remember, ask them for sauces on the side and no bread to the table.
Now I’m really bummed. I just stepped on a scale we have here (I know - I should wait for WI) and it appears I’ve gained 2.1 pounds. How can that be? I’ve been under all days this week so far on my points. I truly hope its just a yucky scale!
I’ve only had one Fruitie - apple. All I can say is WOW! Very fruity. Don’t know if I could ever manage a whole pack, let alone all 3 :dubious:
Don’t trust your scale skittles. Your home scale and the WW scale are probably not reading the same. Even if it does, there are many explanations as to the gain - how much you’ve eaten, drunk, whether or not you’ve had a BM (yes it does matter), water retention… etc… etc…
I made this recipe for dinner last night. It came out to 9 points; however, there’s a lot of fiber in there (10 g). I had a serving, and I was still under points for the day. It’s filling, and absolutely delicious!
Pasta with Salsa-Black Bean Sauce
Ingredients:
1 9-oz package of refrigerated cheese-filled ravioli
1 14.5 ounce can spicy diced tomatoes (like Del Monte Zesty)
1 can black beans, drained
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin
Dried or fresh cilantro, if desired Directions:
Boil ravioli according to directions. Meanwhile, mix tomatoes, beans, chili powder and cumin in saucepot. Simmer over medium heat for about five minutes.
Drain ravioli. Return to pot and mix in tomato/bean mixture. Sprinkle with cilantro, if desired.
A serving is 1-1/3 cups.

So - today is the start of a new week. How did everyone do over the weekend? I think I did semi-OK. I could have made better food choices, but I think I stayed within range.
